I currently take mirtazapine (30mg) and have been for many months so it's safe to say that my body is pretty saturated with it. I've been wanting to try kratom before it becomes illegal but I'm getting mixed information on whether or not it's safe to mix with antidepressants. I've read that some people on SSRI/SNRI thought they might have gotten mild serotonin syndrome after taking kratom, would this also apply to mirtazapine? I know that I can't or shouldn't take SSRI/SNRI drugs because of the possibility of developing SS.

Isn't Kratom a sort of opiate with little or even no seritonin release, but more of a CNS depressant? Seritonin syndrome only occurs with extremely high releasing SSRI's too doesn't it? Neither of the above are particularly high releaser's either. That is my understanding, not guaranteed information. But if that is so then it is safe! Best off waiting for someone with a better knowledge of both substances really though. Mirtazapine never really does anything to me and I have only ever taken it sporadically, my mates use it quite often for sleep too.

Ive taken kratom with several SSRI's although ive never been on Mirtazapine so i cant say for sure but i would highly doubt anything bad would happen. Hopefully we can keep kratom legal as its such a great plant.
