Hi,
I'm new here (except maybe for many years ago) and I am prescribed opiates for knee and back pain: 15 mg Opana twice a day and 3 10/325 Norco three times a day. My doctor seems scared to increase the amount I take, because of all the talk about an opiate epidemic—but I go into withdrawal every day when I'm not on both my Norco AND my Opana at the same time. I can't find out anything online about being in withdrawal b/c you have reached tolerance for an opiate, but that's the case for me. I spend a lot of time lying in bed waiting to be able to take more opiate to feel normal. I don't get euphoria, just pain relief and pleasantly functional.
I heard about Kratom and bought some, which came today. So I read a bunch online and I learned that some people who took it every day got to a point where it made them feel worse, and when they tried to stop, it was EVEN worse. I don't want that to happen to me. Would I have to use some Kratom every other day or every few days in order to boost what I have in my system so I could feel good all the time that day? And not every day?
Plus, I know everyone is different but how much Kratom would you guess I should take to make up for the opiate I would need?
If you don't agree with my analysis of what's going on with me, feel free to speak up, but I am mostly interested in finding out how to feel good for more of the day. ( If my doc weren't scared, going up maybe 10 mg of Norco might do the trick, but he won't.) (I'm not talking about addiction here, btw, so I'm hoping not to be given advice about how to get off opiates, thanks all the same.) I'm an older woman.
