Yeah, I'd figure they would under-dose when switching to Valium. I don't have intentions on trying to switch right now, even though I think I'd prefer its effects. I will stick with the Xanax for now, I guess. I really I am frightened of coming off of it alone, so a Valium taper might be neccesary for when I finally do. Is it common practice in psychiatry to do a Valium taper when coming off benzos, or will my dose just be shrunk?

I found Valium to only be effective for taper, not anxiety or insomnia. It helped me out very little for those reasons but it worked wonders to taper me off. I had very mild withdrawals. It took forever for me to go down from 8mg Klonopin down to 2mg. I was taken down 0.5mg every 2 weeks until I got down to 2mg. Then I switched onto the equivalent dose of Valium...40mg and we reduced 10mg every month and the last 10mg I was switched onto 2mg after a month and then got off 2mg after two weeks. In order to get equivalent doses I printed out the Ashton Manuel from benzo.org and showed him. It took about a year to get off the Klonopin after 10 years on them.

eh seriously I have become fond of pins, but xanax is my favorite. it just gets rid of my anxiety best and does not make me moody, but then again it can make me mooore agitated than normal sometimes or belligerent which I hate but I dunno its whatever. Klonopins always give me a better taking load off my shoulders relief and xanax gives me the nice make it stop relief.:D They ARE the most useful theraputic benzos for anxiety disorders imho that and Lorazepam and Temazepam at night.

For me Xanax will make me stagger, Klonopin does not. Also Xanax doesnt last as long as K-pins.

Yeah its the duration of Klonopin that makes it preferable. I also think its more sedating than Xanax which I don't mind. Its not too much, more subtle.
The first time with Klonopin, before I had a benzo habit, or tolerance, I felt SO relaxed. It was only like 0.75 mg spread over that day, but boy was I relaxed. Klonopin and Xanax are sort of similar compared to other benzos, but I agree Klonopin is more sedating in its effects, even though Xanax's fast acting effects can pack a punch and seem more sedating because of that. Klonopin is much more subtle, but just as if not "better" than Xanax. Klonopin also does seem to relax my body more than Xanax.

I find Klonopin to be a better muscle relaxant than the majority of all benzos.
get k-ins bro kd told ya right ur gettin more and k pin is strong as xanax almost and last twice as long xanax is just short real short i feel the buzz come and go then i have rebound anxiety but k pins now last dam near alll day bro so get the pins and have fun .......Rastaman................................kd i agree i just was jumped have a broken nose and i tell u k-in is the best muscle relaxant ...imho....beats the brakes off of valium
