Kpin + Lortab?

Hey bluelighters, I'm on 2.5 mg of Klonopin a day. I was wondering if it's okay to take a lortab the day after (not mixing @ the same time, I'm talking about waiting a good 24hrs or so) and if so should I just not take the Kpin that day? I'm asking because I've heard mixing downers can be dangerous, but I thought maybe it was just benzos & alcohol, I don't know much about this combo. If anyone knows anything about it and can let me know that'd be cool, thanks.

whats your tolerance to opiates?, personnally i enjoy mixing the 2 together... but if you wannt to wait, give it 24 hours

Well, my tolerance to the Kpin is kinda high I would say. I take 2mg @ night and it doesn't even come close to knocking me out or making me tired, somehow it still helps my anxiety though. I'll be a little hungover in the morning but that's it. My tolerance to opiates isn't high @ all, doesn't take much from what I remember. Anyway, knowing Im on a benzo daily I got to thinking if taking a lortab would be safe or not and didnt wanna get myself into something stupid without asking first. Is it generally safe though if I've waited 24hrs or so? I know Kpin sticks in your system for a while so I dont know if that'd still be "mixing" or not.

Given what you've said here I would say have at it. 2.5mg is a "healthy" dose of clonazepam, obviously not anywhere near the top of what's said on these boards, but enough to make most people pretty sedated. The stigma of combining opiates with benzos deserves most of the respect it gets, as it can get dangerous pretty quickly. But common sense is your friend here, pace yourself, you can always take more but not less blah blah blah.

Considering you are on the Clonazepam daily, your tolerance has got to be decent. I wouldn't recommend to one of my straight friends on a first time whim to take a Vic and 2.5 of kpins. But the tolerance from your daily (prescribed?) dose should keep you in the safe zone.

I myself am prescribed Clonazepam, 1mg twice a day and I go through periods of heavy opiate use and as I can tell I'm no worse for wear. Your story or body might be different but I really wouldn't hesitate or worry about this either separately dosed or spread apart. And I just though of how long Clonazepams half-life is but I just don't really think it's all that relevant in this situation. Anyone disagree?

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I don't know much about the combo, just that I've heard it's not safe to mix. Like you said it prob deserves the respect it gets. I've heard alcohol is a more dangerous mix with it, but don't know anything about that either. My Kpins are prescribed and I do have a tolerance, so I guess that does make a difference. I think the half life of Kpins can be anywhere from like 16 to 50 hours or something in that general range, that's why I worry about it still being "mixing" if I took an opiate a full day later.

Yea the half-life of Clonazepam can look pretty extreme at first glance, more akin to say something like Fluoxetine, than a benzo (or most benzos). But I think most people would tell you that the effects profile is only gonna have a noticeable effect for maybe 6-8 hours, at least that's close to what it is for me

Hate to bump a thread five months out... but.. I've just acquired a prescription for .5mg klonopin 2 tabs 2x daly... I have a couple of vicodin 5mg left over from a tooth ache.. 1mg kpin/5mg vicodin reasonable? I'm a big dude, 6'2" 399 even.

if you don't have a tolerance to the klonopin take half of your prescribed klonopin dose if you're going to take the vicodin just to be on the safe side. If you're already tolerant to the klonopin I don't think it's too dangerous, but I've been using opiates and benzos together for years. everyone reacts differently but doctors prescribe this combo all the time and most opiate tolerant people wouldn't even feel two vicodins.

Take into account klonopins long half life. Basically it sounds safe but be careful, only take one vicodin and then feel it out.
