Korvalol?

A buddy of mine got a hold of some Russian drug called Korvalol. He said it is a some sort of opiate that gets you fucked up in 15 drops. The stuff is liquid in a small bottle with a dropper thing (not sure what they are called) on the end. I tried to do a search to find out what exactly the drug is, and turned out w/o any luck. Just a bunch of russian pages that I couldn't understand. I did come across one page in Russian that had marijuana leaf on it and had something written about the drug. So, I guess it has some recreational value and my buddy scored some good stuff. Does anyone know what kind of opiate that stuff is? Or anyone that can read Russian that could help me? Anyway, the drug is called Korvalol and I'm just trying to find some information about it before I take the stuff. I would really appreciate any kind of info on this drug or a link with some info in English.

Nevermind, after another search I found the answers I was looking for.
Corvalolum (in Latin) is a sedative preparation (central nervous system,
psychotropics), an analogous drug to Valocordin.
It contains: bromisoval - 2%,
phenobarbitone - 1,87%,
ol. menth. pip. - 0,14%,
mixture of aqua distilata and spiritus aethylicus (96%)
till 100%
Indications: nervuous desorders, insomnia, tachycardia, earlier stages of
hypertonia.
Corvalolum is administered by mouth and should be taken on empty stomach
(before eating), 15 - 30 drops 2 - 3 times per day. In the treatment of
tachycardia dosage could be incresed to 40 - 50 drops.
Side effects: sleepiness (drowsiness), slight vertigo (dizziness, giddiness).
So my question now is, does this drug have any rec. value?

Dude, unless somebody here has taken that stuff before, we won't know. My suggestion, if you are really excited about it, is to drop a few drops on your tongue and see what happens. If nothing, then slowly increase the dose.
 
Just another addition,
I did a search on erowid for the chemicals in the drug. And it turns out to be phenobarbitone is a long lasting barbiturate. The other ingredients were not listed. I've never tried barbs, is the high any good?
 
Barbs are good. Boring, but good. Slightly similar to benzos, but better in my opinion. Be careful as they're very addictive and also deadly.
