p.s I was surprised at the few negative comments too Marmalade. I got sent an invite via PM and promptly took up the the offer. There's not a whole lot more too it than that. <3

p.p.s Though i am really appreciative of any tips and advice on how best to go about introducing myself, blending in and what not, I should remind everyone that the title of my thread was simply "Who's going - anyone other than me?" I was not asking whether other's thought it appropriate to attend or not. Like I said, having been invited and given details, whether it was appropriate to attend or not seemed like a no brainer. Other wise I would have started a thread called "Am considering attending Knock's funeral, do you think this is a good idea or not". And, incidently, I found some of the negative comments by certain people extremely distateful btw. i'll say no more as there is no way I'm getting into an argument with anyone at this point in time, especially on this particular thread so we'll leave it that please.

You shouldn't have been made to feel you needed to justify yourself to anyone in the first place imo. Hopefully when the time comes you'll feel ok with things ... well as ok as funerals get anyway. It's a shitty, but lovely experience (due to the collective formal acknowledgement of someone's life, and their uniqueness) all at the same time ... funerals are weird like that.

My Mum's funeral played out to Jailhouse Rock, cause it's the song she first taught herself to dance with, using a chair for a partner in her bedroom, and she played it until the vinyl broke. I still can't dance, but she was awesome at it

Since Michaels career was in IT, I'd say it's more likely that if Swarm introduces himself as an online friend, that people will assume it's related to that no? Far more tech forums than drug forums on the Internet.

Surprised by the negativity however, I was not. I held very tightly to myself to prevent a visceral response...
 
I do that alot. I guess if I can get a laugh in this thread, provided it's at no-one elses expense, I should take it :)
 
BL members have been asked by the family not to attend the funeral and so I'll close this as it is pointless now. At least we've raised money for a good cause, regardless of the circumstances.
