I took 1.5 mg of klonopin 274 around like 3 or 4 today or yestarday snice its 2 am....smoked some weed and for some reason got mad munchies, but for some reason i fell asleep and just woke up a minute ago

I was just trying to enjoy a drowsy high since my doctor just prescribed them to me....

i obviously wasn't able to enjoy the sleepy weed high so was this because i took too much klonopin pr is it because klonopin isn't good for mixing with weed like xanax is?

You will realize that benzos ain't fun at all, once the novelty wears off, I guess. Hmmm, about your question, well, this drug is supposed to make you sleepy/less anxious/calmer/etc.. This is why they call it a DOWNER. I mean if you fell sleep from it then you should take less (1.5mg is waaaay too much if you don't have a tolerance). If you do not have tolerance then 0.25 mg should suffice.

Clonazepam is one of the more sedating benzos, and mixed with a sedating strain of cannabis...well...that will certainly put you to sleep.

Is Xanax better for a weed high or does it not really matter? BTW these klonopins expired in july of 09, so I guess this can answer any future questions on whether old kpins are good or not!

Thank you for answering my questions, I get pretty quick answers, so I can't wait to contribute anything I can to this board.

Try valium. Xanax knocks me the fuck out, but only lasts about 2-3 hours. But I don't really take benzos very often, especially last couple years. Valium is the only one that doesn't sedate me too much(well klonopin too, but at .5-1.0 doses, but valium is better)

Depending on how the pills were stored, they can still be good YEARS beyond their expiration date .

I take my valium in the morning and klonopin at night. But, unless you are using them for anxiety ect... the "novelty" wears off fast. They are highly addictive and WD is dangerous. Be careful.

I find clonazepam to be one of the least sedating benzos, though it is highly relaxing. Diazepam is much more sedative in my book.

Different people have different reactions to different drugs, and since the OP was using a sedating strain of cannabis, it would be likely the combination of cannabis and clonazepam brought out the sedative effects of both drugs.

I guess it all depends on the individual as far a novelty goes, tolerance is an issue like it is with many substances. I'm not sure i need novelty to still enjoy Benzos I find that's the problem at the moment. I don't really want to give them up and i really like that nodding out and falling to sleep on high doses, especially if I can get setup with an empty house a nice bit of meaningless TV and a blanket, its probably the only time I feel truly relaxed.

I've been on and off them so know the pain of tapers and have also worked up to some stupid tolerances, but novelty or even fun never really came into it in the same way as it has in the past with stims.

As for the OP falling asleep, I'd try the benzo on its own first and find your way with that before adding in another possibly sedating substance, I don't smoke anymore and have never mixed any Benzo with THC so can't really comment on its effects and i stick to good old Diaz to keep things simple...like me;)

I had difficulty staying awake when I had a prescription to Clonazepam.

It was really a sign that I did not need it.

Clonazepam is sedating. 0.25 mg had me somewhat sedated w/o tolerance, well calm. 1.5 mg of clonazepam w/o benzo tolerance, and I am not at all surprised you fell asleep. Next time try 0.5 mg, you will still feel nice and relaxed, but don't expect a "high". Benzos don't really get one high, but calmed, relaxed, and sedated, which is nice, but not "high".

1.5mg of clonazepam is a rather high dose for someone with no tolerance. That's about 30mg of Valium, in equivalence (I believe, not 100%).

Well the clonazepam is, as mentioned, a very sedating benzo, and the mentioned marijuana is the only thing you have that's going to give you a "high" here.

Clonazepam and Alprazolam are the same class of drug. Alprazolam is much "pushier" due to having a much quicker rate of onset, but also a greatly shorter half-life. The half-life of Alprazolam is around 5 hours I believe. The half-life of clonazepam is around 24-36, if I recall correctly. Neither of them have side-profiles as euphoriants, either, so expecting anything other than to "mute" the world around you, these drugs will create no noticeable high.

As NT said, sedating pharm + sedating weed = sleep.

Im not looking to get high off of the clonazepam, I just want a drowsy weed high, but I also have sever social anxiety disorder, but my doctor only gives me long term anti depresants that induce anxiety....hes about to put me on paxil, taking me off zoloft, so we'l see what happens

Let me first address the issue of SSRI's. While they can be helpful, and aren't incredibly dangerous, they are not drugs that allow one to enjoy life without some emotional blunting and flattening. If they are only being prescribed to you for anxiety, I would suggest tapering off. If you have been on the Zoloft for a while, I'd ask to be switched to Prozac (fluoxetine) and slowly taper off. Prozac is the best SSRI to taper with because of it's extremely long half-life, and its metabolite's extremely long half-life. Now, you could just taper off Zoloft, but do so slowly. A switch to Paxil from Zoloft isn't the worst thing since they are both short-acting with short half-lives, but for that very reason they are not the best SSRI's to be used in my opinion. If are switched to Paxil, I'd advise taking it more than just once daily, so you don't yo-yo throughout the day and night. For instance if you were prescribed 20 mg to be taken in the morning, I'd take 10 mg in the morning, and 10 mg at night for a more steady blood level, and more steady effect. However, my general recommendation is to taper off the SSRI's. Your doctor may not like the fact you want to get off of the SSRI's, but want to keep your benzo script, so you might want to consider slowly tapering them on your own. Just reduce the dose little by little, over the course of however long it you need, probably at least a couple of weeks. Like I said short-acting SSRI's aren't pleasant to come off of, but it is possible if you do it cautiously and conservatively, but Prozac would be the best bet for taper. Do some internet research on the in's and out's of the whole ordeal.

As for the clonazepam, I made my suggestion of 0.5 mg clonazepam to be taken before smoking. This will make for a much more relaxed high. I might even say 1 mg would be okay, if you really want to be sedated, but I'd get sense of how the 0.5 mg works for you. One good thing about benzos is that, if not used on a daily basis, tolerance doesn't really seem to build up that much, at least it is quite slow. Now, take benzos daily is another story, tolerance goes up some, but the dependence is what you have to watch for, because once you're benzo dependent, you are taking them to function properly, and if you were to stop taking them abruptly the withdrawl symptoms would be extremely unpleasant and very dangerous, even lif-threatening. So, I advise you use the clonazepam as needed for when you want to zone out or calm down, or whatever.
