Hello i have recenty picked up a .5mg half pill of klonopin. I am planning to take it before a big presentation to reduce the high amount of anxiety i will have. Will this dose be effective enough to show no signs on anxiety or will i need a higher dose?
Ps. I have no benzo tolerance.

With no tolerance for benzos, .5mg of Klonopin should be enough. I would not recommend taking more because you are more likely to experience the negative side effects.

IME, using a benzo the night before a presentation can help with the anxiety more effectively without as much cognitive impairment.

Good luck!

i think .5 klonopin would be the perfect dose and benzo for this, just take it like an hour before if on an empty stomach, if you just ate then take it earlier.

It will work for anxiety, but will also reduce your mental sharpness. Gotta weigh em. But with .5mg, it'll probably be the perfect dose. I would take it an hour before.

Take it more than 1 hour before. Personally 1-2 mg klonopin (depending on how you're affected) 6 hours before would probably be the best way to reduce anxiety. But take it at least 2 hours before.

I can feel a small dose like .5 mg for 4-6 hours. I can feel a large dose like 7-8 mg for over 24 hours

I say this based on lots of experience with the substance.

I'm gonna totally disagree and say that taking a .5 klonopin 6 hours ahead of time will not do shit for your anxiety. This may be the case if you take it everyday... but not for an acute dosage. Someone who is completely naive to the substance is likely to feel the max effects within 1 hour, based on numerous reports of clonazepam experiences on erowid.

I wouldn't take anyone who has a lot of experience with benzos very seriously hahaha.

This guy is right. You should read klonopin 'trip reports' on erowid instead of listening to people that know the chemical well.

Also those 'max effects' you feel within 1 hour are way too strong to be going up on presentation during.

I have recently been placed on .5 Klonopins. Supposed to take them twice a day. It does absolutely nothing for me unless I smoke. Now what good is it if I still have to smoke to be calm???
I have called my therapist with no answered and left a message telling her either my doctor was going to have to up it, or put me on xanex whether she likes the thought of not or I was going to the ER and making them check me into the mental ward. I CAN NOT take this stress, anxiety, pressure, nerves or anger anymore and my doc is just in one of those places where "they don't give xanex regularly". Well unless you want me to start popping them in hopes it works doc, I'd suggest doing your job, seeing how bad off I am and actually HELPING me. GAH!!!

Hi theonlyangelwolf :)

Here in Basic Drug Discussion we discourage bumping of old threads unless you have something very important to add. If you have a question and there are no recent/active threads on the topic it's best to start your own thread. It seems weird that you find smoking to make the Klonopin "do something for you", most people find smoking to decrease the effects of benzodiazepines. I'm not sure if you have a question, it just sounds like you are venting about your situation, so if you do have a question please start a new thread. I'm going to close this one so people don't see it on the front page and reply to the original poster assuming it's a new thread. Please feel free to PM me.

I'm sorry for what you're going through. My suggestion would be for you to find a new doctor who would provide you with the quality care that you deserve.

Nonetheless, this is an old thread, and you're encouraged to start a new thread if you have a specific question, instead of resurrecting an old one. With that said, I'm going to close this now, please feel free to start a new thread or PM me if you have any questions.

Closed.

SD you ninja turtle! Either way you forgot to close it.
