klonopin and ambien

ok, im gonna take 20mg of ambien, but i also have these klonopin. i know they both affect GABA and passing out isnt an issue for me with either one alone, so for recreational purposes is klonopin additive to the effects of ambien? would one overtake another one? help is appreciated

They have synergy so the Klonopin will increase the sedation that Ambien produces. However I've found that it does decrease the trippy effects of Ambien. I'm taking the two in about 30-60 minutes.

Synergy! The Klonopin won't "overtake" the Ambien or anything like that - since they're similar substances, they will work together to produce an effect greater than the sum of the two parts, if that makes any sense at all - its like 1+1=more than 2

that makes enough sense, would one contribute to tolerance of the other? i used to be able to get WRECKED on 2mg klonopin and since being prescribed them and ambien for sleep, my tolerance shot up a ridiculous amount. i havent been on them a month yet and even 3mg isnt enough anymore. i dont take either everyday because i dont wanna get dependant, but 1mg/day is effective for anxiety relief still so idk wats up

I take em' both every night, unfortunately I can't sleep without them, however I do look forward to the combo when it comes time to sleep. Enjoy it, without much tolerance you'll be asleep within a half hour most likely.

absolutely, they have similar mechanisms of action. there will be cross tolerance.

My friend snorted 10mg Ambien (top quality brand) and swallowed 10mg....then took 1.5 mg Klonopin oral. This was in the last 40 minutes (I think) and he definitely feels strange and feels this buzz of being on drugs and "in it". I think this is a great and safe combo for anyone around 140 lbs, on an empty stomach, without ANY other RX medications involved, including nicotine (it will be hard for the Ambien and Klonopin to fully kill the stimulating effect of the nicotine at this dose). I feel good. It's not like a fantastic, super duper immense warmth and grandiosity of DXM on the perfect dose, but it's good if you want to take a break from doing dxm or opiates (my friend did it while he was going through day 2 of H withdrawal and it helped him very well.
