King County plus 5 surrounding raided yesterday

DEA raided Seattle (King County) + 5 other surrounding countiy M.M.Dispenseries yesterday (Tuesday) Their claim is dispenseries are growing & buying twice much as they need & are selling to as many people that dont have cards, as patients that (legaly) do... really ? There are that many dirt bag store operators out there, Really...???

I heard one of the "law officials" say we dont want the "bad stuff" making its way onto the shelves of the stores" (I think, meaning marijuana not grown specifically for the dispensery)
Is that a legitimate concern ? Clutching for straws, er' what ?

I am all for having a dispensary system for medical cannabis. That said, the feds want to seize assets and money from the people that are profiting from the sales of cannabis. It is too easy an opportunity to bust a public storefront, with little to no chance for resistance or having to dodge bullets. Until cannabis is removed from schedule 1, as a drug with no medical use, that we all know now to be false, the DEA will continue to go after the easy bust, to get more funding via forfitures of 'drug money'.
To adress the issue of quality product reaching the shelf, mold and pesticide testing should be performed on a sample of each product to be sold. These tests cost about $100/ sample, and will find any contaminants present. If the shop you obtain medicine from does not provide this testing on their products, go elsewhere !

If those accusations were true, then good, fuck those guys. They are partly the cause of the recent DEA crackdowns.
 
I dont think they were referring to contaminated bud' but that which is grown & sold to dispenseries w/o having the licence to do so.. but I dont know of any law enforcement proving this...

The dispensaries target were selling marijuana for profit, selling to those without a medical card, selling weights in excess of what's legal, buying from non approved growers, and in some cases were shipping to gangs that were out of state. I believe money laundering was also being investigated. I am totally for these types of busts, they give the medical marijuana community a bad name. If the medical marijuana community is to be taken seriously then it needs to operate professionally, like a pharmacy or hospital.

Humboldt voted last year not to decriminalize because they make so much fucking money on the black market.

thats because if they said no to the vote then they can still sell the weed they grow on the streets and not pay taxes
 
they must think marijuana sales can give an upstart organization the access to profits they need to start selling harder drugs too. but if they're raiding marijuana operations, I doubt it will impact the availability of cocaine, meth or heroin. by their logic, we should be arresting people with jobs, because they have more money to buy drugs. I certainly fucked around quite a bit more during the time I had a job. arrest the working class!
 
Along these lines, who would disagree if the feds suddenly allowed for marijuana to be sold & taxed commercially? Imagine the tax revenue windfall the government could count on. Once the generations of people who were born pre-Baby Boom completely die off, expect alot of their old-fashioned perspectives to fade away as well. I'd go so far as to say most people you ask under the age of 60 are neutral at worst on the topic of smoking marijuana from a moral standpoint. Anybody with a brain can see the relative harmlessness of recreational marijuana usage, especially when it's physiological effects are compared with & referenced to those of alcohol. Give it 10 years, & you'll probably see varying brands of dank competing for prominence on your local grocers shelf with catchy jingles that will be featured on their commercials. Hopefully RJR Reynolds & their counterparts don't manage to crossover into this hypothetical industry.
