I have had an opiate addiction for about 3 years. It has recently gotten way out of hand, causing me to wreck, total my car, and nearly kill myself, lost my boyfriend, gone to jail, and lost my job. So now that I have no job, and no money, I have no other option but to quit. And I really think it is best. My tolerance was out of hand anyway, and this could be good....take a long break, and maybe my tolerance will go down. But if I DO decide to use in the future, it will be far from now, and will be ONLY once in a blue moon.

Luckily, I have been saving ONE suboxone for a rainy day. So 5 days ago was my last day of oxy. Four days ago I took about 2 milligrams of my sub. And I pretty much spread it out over the last few days. It has been 4 days, and I just took my last dose. I am really worried about how I will feel. Because when I have been waking up, I have been feeling like shit, until I take my sub. Do you think that I will have terrible withdrawals from the sub? I have been taking very low doses, and was only using it for 4 days. Do you think that my opiate withdrawals will be over with after 4 days? Also, at times, my cravings are so strong. I almost decided to pawn some jewelery to make money for some pills. I had to talk myself out of it. Has anyone else ever done a rapid detox with suboxone? how did you feel after? And how long, and how bad were the withdrawals?

Thanks for taking the time to read...

You should be down to at least .5mg daily or preferably .5mg every other day before quitting suboxone. That would be an ideal to experience the least withdrawal symptoms.

^ but that said, many people drop off at larger doses, either because they have no other option or because they just want to get clean. I stopped at 2mg bupe.

I think that in any case you have lessened your WD's by using the bupe as you did. Replacing full agonist euphoria with something more mild like bupe is always a good first step, even if only psychologically. I also think that the facts that 1) you are at 5 days and 2) you didn't use bupe for long, and only used low doses, are both going to work in your favour.

Get some loperamide, it will really help out. Kratom is worth looking into if you have even a little money to spare as well...

^This. Loperamide, or Immodium, can be a tremendous help. When you're feeling like hell, it can provide significant enough relief so that you can function, and at least get out and run errands and such.

I obviously don't know your situation, but if you aren't prone to abusing Benzodiazepines, short term use can really take the edge off of the worst of it (if you have access to the aforementioned).

Look, the great thing about suboxone is that it takes a long time to get psychically dependent on, as opposed to something like methadone. So taking it for 4 days will not get you strung out. Now, 4 days off of any opiate, especially with the help of suboxone, is enough time to get rid of the major psychical withdraws. They tend to taper off and become more manageable after about 3 days. Of course, ideally you would find another 8mg suboxone pill or strip and make that last for another 4 days-1 week, at which point you will be basically completely cured of your psychical dependence.

The mental part however is a different beast. The suboxone helps with that too. Maybe you should consider getting a script for it. It will help with the first few months, the most grueling in terms of cravings.
