Kinda Weird Question About Vicodin....

I have gotten a new prescription tonight for Vicodin 7.5/325 and I took 3 of them over about 2 hours time. Now normally I have had the 5/325 pills and only had to take 2-4 to get a really nice buzz that lasted for several hours at a time, and also took away my pain for the most part.

And this time I have taken 3 of the new ones and it's been almost 3 hours and I don't feel a thing at all whatsoever plus I am still in some pretty great pain.

What could be the reason for this? The weird part of this question is that I am literally very nieve about these things and I was wondering if they could have given me a placebo or something? The pill does say m366 on the one side while the other side is just blank.

We just can't figure out why this is happening. Or rather not happening at all. And I'm getting really very frustrated about it.

The conditions under which you took it must have been different than previous times.

It could be due to spacing out your doses over the course of a few hours. Too get the effects your looking for it would be bennefitial to take it as one single dose rather than spread it out. This can become difficult however if you are looking for all day pain relief and don't wish to dose 3 vicodin every 4 hours. You also have to worry about consumimg too much acetominophen, however you are nowhere near the Max with what you have taken.

Next time try taking the same amount but as a single dose. This should be enough to give you some pleasurable effects if you have little to no tolerance.

Previously when you have taken vicodin, did you take it all at once? Did you take it in a full or empty stomach?

Not placebo. like Cloroxtastebad pointed out, empty stomach, time of day, and time in between dosing all matter. Im not certain but I beleive 4,000 mgs acetominophen is MAX for 24hr period, and even around that over long periods you are hurting your liver. I cant wait until they release the pure hydrocodone, im not sure if its this year or next year but my medical director told me the FDA has approved it finally.
 
Yes - that would be great if they would just manufacture hydro w/o acetominophen. I don't feel that acetominophen relieves ANY pain and if I wanted that medication I would TAKE that medication. But you don't have too much choice because the hydro always comes with it. So does codeine. They used to manufacture tylenol #1's with had something like 12.5 mg of codeine, 300 mg of tylenol, and caffeine! They worked OK but because of the caffeine it prevented folks from taking too much of it because you would be a nervous wreck! Anyway - as far as your problem of not feeling anything, it may have to do with the manufacturer which is malickmark (sp) while I have found the better is the watson brand. I hope you feel better.
 
Yes, its been available in Europe for years. Just finally got approved here. Until it is offically released, the purest form availble here in the U.S has been the hydrodone cough syrup, rapidly dwindling supplies of the Hycodan-Codiclear-Hydromet type syrups. Acetominophen is so bad for your liver, its about time, people on pain managment shouldent have to suffer liver problems. Im not sure about brands, i guess ive never paid too much attention, but Ive heard there is a difference. I just use the (CWE) whenever I get them anyhow, my liver is too important to me, lol.

On November 19, 2010, the FDA banned all sale of the propoxyphene containing products Darvon and Darvocet [28]). Around the same time, an extended-release hydrocodone-only product was apparently close to final approval for marketing in the United States

I hope its not an extended release only in pure form that just got approved, Ill have to do more research.

I'd be willing to bet any pure hydrocodone on the US market will be in a tamper resistant form. Like the new plastic OP's.
They will also be schedule 2.
 
After asking my medical director, he said there will be both tamper resistant and IR, however...
He does feel that they will move it to schedule 2.
Double edge sword, finally a medium grade opiate in pure form, moved up in class so its hard to get. But Im betting doctors will still be more willing to perscribe than oxy even though they will be in same class. Still, until its set in stone its all speculation.
I hope you are not right nsauce, but I wouldent bet money against you.
 
Sorry to revive this thread, but these pills suck. I hate when they prescribe them to me instead if the vintage pharmaceutical 7.5/325. They are consistently ineffective for relieving any pain at all. they should fuck off the market. I just got my refill and what do you know, now my fucking back will hurt for a month.
