Kind of Faith

Fallin’ into
a smalltime Saturday evening slumber
I’m lookin at the hourglass waitin to fall under
but feel grateful that I’m still standing

There is a kind of faith
I like to keep but have a
hard time showing it at times
though I will reach so far
out in your direction and work
toward making some progress in our relationship

Time flies past by me so fast
I try to catch my breath and make ends meet
with a sense of courtesy
class and self-respect
I’m put to the test leaving my older-time
worries to rest so I can try harder to focus on the moment… Here I get on goin’ again…
Goddamnit
I can’t sit around and wait for the burning bush…!!!~
