Thing is, this was the first time the hospitalized person ever tripped (they ever wake up?). It is my (laymen) understanding that antibodies must be developed to drugs before an allergic reaction will occur (so minimally, by the second dose). The amount of 25I is also extremely small, which to my, again laymen, intuitions should (at least generally) reduce the degree of interaction with whatever immunological mechanisms create a reaction. Having never tripped, the friend would have not developed a generalized allergic reaction from previous exposure to psychedelics either. I think Erny also reported hospitalization of a woman after taking 25B at an average range dose. Presumably that dose was her first, or among her first exposures to the drug.Sounds to me like an allergic reaction - possibly coupled with some inconsistency in the solution used for dosing that led to them receiving more than they thought they were getting.
It's disturbing to think that maybe some significant minority is extremely susceptible to these NBOMe compounds to a deadly degree independent of extremely rare severe allergies -- and at NORMAL doses published all over the internet where even semi-responsible people go for dosage guidlines. The market is already too large to limit exposure without a ban, and there's no way in hell that Freddy Fratboy is going to titrate up over a period of days or weeks to make sure he or one of his broheims aren't one of the minority. If this is the case, with greater popularity we can expect more random coma cases or deaths. Looking at the number of reports in Richmond alone (presuming they're true -- and let's face it, if it is going to be true for any RC psyche it's going to be a super potent difficult to dose one), the NBOMes could be a real PR nightmare for RC psychedelics beyond anything seen before, and in the near future (imagine a number of major cities with Richmond-like market penetration). Worst case scenario, yeah, but still a freaky idea. If all these reports are true it'll be evident soon enough elsewhere.
