Hi, ever since i did ecstasy on friday night, i have been having mild, infrequent kidney pains. It doesn't hurt much at all, but i can feel it. I have been drinking water since, but i really don't want ot have to go to the doctors. Am in in trouble?

Kidney troubles, please help

Symptoms of Kidney problems include:
-Tiredness
-swollen ankles, feet or hands (due to water retention)
-shortness of breath
-blood or protein in your urine (protein in your urine is not something that you will notice as it can only be detected during a urine test)
-an increased need to urinate, particularly at night
-itchy skin
-nausea
-erectile dysfunction in men (an inability to get or maintain an erection)
If its bothering you in your normal day today activities then you should go and see a doctor. No one on here holds a medical degree - we can only give advice.

Go to the doctor, do not waste time
I smoke a lot of weed, so tiredness i can't really pinpoint on this, although i am no more tired than normal. The only thing really is the slight pain, its not the pain that bothering me as such, its just worrying me, as i said its very mild.

Well personally I would go to the doctors and get a blood test done just to be sure. I don't want to worry you but you can't take any chances with your kidneys.
Do i mention the drugs or not? Can it get me in any trouble?

Tell him everything. You won't get into trouble because you are legally entitled to patient confidentiality. In fact, if you doctor was to tell anyone about what you have told him, he would be in trouble. At worst you will experience what I did - a ten minute telling off and a lecture on the dangers of drugs. What country do you live in?

Same here mate. The NHS is an invaluable public service. I have had superb care and treatment from my days of MDMA abuse. I feel sorry for the Americans I occasionally see on here worrying about costs of going to the doctors and taking all these pills that have very little grounding in medical research.
