I wouldnt consider my responses aggressive, I do believe I have stood for my beliefs quite a bit too firmly. My second post (wich is what this whole dispute has been about kind of) Was very harsh looking back, but I believe much of this has been comunications errors more than anything else. In my second post I left out a very key point. I did not mean to say the person was doomed to addiction, I meant if they simply take drugs to taper off of drugs then it would be verry likely for them to still have a problem in the future.
I didnt mean to seem like I was forcing someone to go to NA. I was trying to stress the fact that a support group who you can use to make new friends who arent users is a verry important part of recovery from addiction. I didnt mean to seem so hardcore about joining NA, I simply wanted the OP to realise that once you stop taking your drug of choice, life cant just return to normal. It is my belief that if you remove heroin, go back to how you were before getting hooked on heroin, then you will most likely take the same course of action in dealing with your life that led you to getting addicted in the first place.
On another note, I am intrigued by people who havent been to an NA meeting and claim they are not the NA type. I have been to quite a bit of different NA meetings and the only thing I found in common with any of the members was the fact that they are trying to recover from an addiction. I didnt mean to sound like an asshole by asking about why the OP didnt think he was an NA person, I was simply interested in how much he knows about it and why he would feel he wouldnt like it.
I originally thought NA was trying to push me into believing in the christian GOD as many people wrongly assume. They simply try to get you to believe in sometihng more than yourself. My higher power has often switched between two gods. The first one stands for Group Of Druggies, the other GOD i sometimes choose to believe in is "Greater of Decisions" Sometimes my higher power is a fucking acorn that has fallen out of a tree. Your "GOD" in NA, can be anything that you understand to be greater than yourself.
I dont want to seem like I am an NA pusher, but I dont believe bluelight is as good a support group as someone who wants to get off dope can find.
Once again I must apologize for my harsh tone in some of my earlier posts, but I assure you, if I were speaking in person rather than behind a box accross wires these responses would have been comunicated much better and lacked the negativity that they seem to have had.
(sorry if todays post seems a bit cookey, I have been up all night working on music and am trying to stay up till a decent bed time in order to get on a decent sleep schedule)
