So depressed to the point of not wanting to be here anymore. One thing that helped was ketamine (or however you spell it) But of course I don't know anyone who has/gets it at all. I certainly cannot afford those 3,000 or more ketamine clinics nor where to look for it anywhere else so I'm doomed. Can anyone explain to me why ketamine helps with it?

No one really knows why exactly ketamine helps with treatment resistance depression but it finally seems to be gaining some traction as a viable treatment. Have you seen a professional for depression? You may be able to get into one of the programs if you have already had documented unsuccessful depression treatments.

Please whatever you do, don't give up even if you can't find an affordable ketamine clinic. There are other ways out of the hole you're in, just please don't give up.

I know this can sound kind of cold since it's repeated so much ad nauseam but if you feel like you might hurt yourself don't hesitate to call the suicide hotline or check yourself into an inpatient facility, or even just talk to someone you trust if you have the option.

I know depression is hard, i've suffered with it for my entire life. I wish you luck on your journey through this tumultuous time

From what I’ve read, it has the ability to bring neurons to maturation much faster. There’s a growing theory that antidepressant effects come from neurogenesis and less believe in the old “monoamine” theory regard depression.

While ketamine doesn’t induce neurogenesis, that quick maturation of neurons can give a boost for a week or so.

That’s why I find it’s best to pair with a low dose of a psychedelic known to induce neurogenesis. Like DMT or Psilocybin.

I have all kinds of it! I get ketamine cream that also has gabapentin in it as well and a half a squirt rectally will do u right!!

Such a bummer. In my country, pharma ketamine is widely available for a the equivalent of a dimebag. Actually more like 2 sealed vials u could buy with that and there's a TON of K. I once saw a box with 100 vials all sealed. My jaw dropped.

In the case of ketamine treatment that seem's to matter a lot. You could also PM once you reached bluelighter status.

Why K is so good in relieving depression, among other's, i have no clue. Its also great for pain management like Methoxetamine. Also a special one as most dissociative's cause mania in me. Probably about balance, DesChloroKetamine is pretty close ime.

Wish I could say something other then that allready has been said. But you are not alone. Over here there is an whole semi-illegal market selling Ketamine nose sprays. Not saying they are legit. But the customer's are.

In the United States, clinics are opening up and insurance is covering nasal Spravato ketamine. Google it with names of reputable city psychiatric hospitals and you should find contact numbers. You’ll need psych referral and history of treatment resistance. Good luck.

IME in the U.S., the doctor I use only asked what my diagnoses were (e.g. bipolar with a major depressive aspect) and didn't require proof. Treatment is $250/month for a 30 minute consult/followup and $40 for a month of K (150mg now to 400mg oral) in the form of oral troches. Because you need to hold them (and the saliva) in your mouth for 15-30 minutes, it's a bit annoying but doable. Your mouth goes numb after a minute or so. I use a method to safely convert the troches to IM injections and discovered that 150mg every 2-3 days is ideal to keep depression at bay. I cut the dose in half and save some for later.

It does help with depression. Is it worth the money? Well to me unless your swimming in the stuff, it’s much better to just find on your own.

Wow, they do up to 400mg's of ket? That's quite a dosage. But oral is a waste, they should go for nasal sprays. Yeah, ketamine (and other arylcyclohexylamine dissociatives) does work for depression among others like pain, opioid addiction etc. but these clinics charge just exuberant prices. Better to score some ket yourself and use the nasal route, infusion isn't required for it to work.

One function of ketamine is inhibiting function of nicotine receptors for good while.

1) pro-cholinergic drugs cause anxiety and depression in some individuals. I, for example, loath nicotine for this reason. Only good thing about it is, it is laxative.

2) Every ketamine-resembling compound lacking this inhibiting function, has failed to show same kind of anti-depressant effect.

Then there all the other things from experience itself to NMDA-antagonism.

I have experienced DXM to deliver some anti-depressant effects too. So, while it is not the same thing, you can try it. But don't try too much, it doesn't seem to be as sustainable. Forgive it when it is the time to give it up.

first question is: for me it does not help, I tried it by nose, felt the effects, they are so so, I don't like them very much and they don't move me out of the depressive state like shrooms or heroin do at least a bit. Ket is a chemical anesthetic, "taste" of it sucks and makes your mouth area numb.

second: I don't know about clinic prices, street/black market prices may be worth it.

I've been on Opie's for yearsssssss. so I am going to take an educated guess this stuff (at least through these clinics) is NOT for me lol.

I find s-ketamine to really help with depression and anhedonia. I usually binge with it a little bit (~10 to 24 hours with 0.5 to 2g) and it helps me about three weeks. I take ketamine only IV.
