Ketamine reagent testing?

A friend of mine acquired some K in a metal-sealed, liquid vial. And it looks like any other vial you might get, except it doesnt have a label. We have both tried it, and it seems like good stuff. Very typical ket-effects. Only tried low doses though. The weird thing is, I tried testing with mandelin and it didnt have much of a reaction, maybe the slightest orange/red (and mandelin is already yellow). However, this must be Ket, what else would it be? I'm very confused and am curious about testing ket because this is the first time I've done so. I only used a very small amount to test it, maybe it needs more to break the threshold and get a reaction? Why wouldnt it react with mandelin? I am thinking, maybe just using a relatively large amount but I dont want to waste it unless its neccesary.

EDIT: And, whats really weird is that this is not some bag of powder bought at a club, this was a sealed liq, and it feels/tastes/etc just like ket...

I also came across this comment:
I have the regular ez test. But I remember testing pure ketamine and it turned nothing.
But I felt no mdma feeling at all from those pills. is ther any othr form of mdma - like a cousin that might test purpleish..
One of the strange pills - thank god my friend has no more..

Maybe ketamine doesnt always show up? Maybe it depends on S or R isomers? Anyone who might know about testing regular K (not in rolls/pills) when it has been turned into powder, please shed some light on this.

Also, how long does a mandelin reaction (specifically with ketamine) usually take? I thought anything over 20 seconds or so "doesnt count". And for the record, I'm pretty certain that this IS k. Its the reaction that confuses me. True, it was an unlabeled vial, but everything about it from the look of the vial to cooking to the taste to the feel of it is the same as a vial of ketaset... Anyone here familiar with testing ketamine?

Nobody is going to make sealed vials of fake ket, just to ssell it as that instead of baggies of powder. The label was probably just removed for some reason.

Regarding the mandellin results, I noted that ket tended to change kinda slow, and not very strongly, have you gotten differentresults from ket in the past when testing it? Bear in mind that MDMA/MDA/MDEA produce an insanely strong and fast reaction to the reagents. Very few other compounds produce changes as fast or as strongly as the mdxx that test kit users are accustomed to looking for.

Mandellin Reagent (ammonium vanadate in H2SO4) is not chiral, and hence cannot differentiate between R vs S isomers.

I have never tested Ket before, I just wanted to ask as a precaution, just because there is no label. Other than that... I see absolutely no reason to think that it isnt ket. Maybe I just didnt let the mandelin sit long enough, I'm kinda new to testing, and am used to the extremely fast results molly/pills give off, and figured: okay 20 seconds and nothing really... this is something I should ask about on BL ;-P

To be fair, I think we did one test with mandelin, and it didnt do anything. Then, we did another test, and were surprised as we saw no immediate color change (used more the second time, again I'm new to testing anything besides 2cb and mdma). However, I then noticed the first test had the smallest hint of reddish orange-brown, as it had just been sitting there while I did the next test. I didnt wait to see the results of the second, but by that time I had seen the very miniscule results of the first test that had been sitting around for a few minutes now. I didn't know I had to wait a few minutes, and now this makes sense because the first test DID show some orange-brown color change. However I have to say it was SO SMALL of a reaction that it was barely noticeable, and I was wondering whether it was just the lighting making the yellow Mandelin look different. I guess I will try again, and be patient. I just thought if it didnt react immediately it wasn't going to.
