I've done a few edits and removed a few posts, there's been some good discussion so in an effort to keep this thread open, let's stop talking about how easy or hard it is to get K in a particular city.

I'm not sure this is the case actually. I seem to remember reading a few synthesises / patents for the synthesis of ketamine, and from what I remember, different brands had varying ratios.

k in pills is not k. its usually some other drug, and on the rare occaison that it is k, the oral bioavailability is so shit that youd need HEAPS to even feel it, and there isnt that much in a pill.

A point orally mixed with caffeine or speed or a bit of MDMA even does happen at times, and people generally get really flogged off them and have a bad time at clubs. Some people are really sensative to dissociatives, even taken orally. I remember some pill going around called Red Stickmen or the racist version "red chinese men" and dropping one of those orally was a warped experience in a club. As soon as I found out they were K and I had a fair few I used them for snorting on comedowns etc. it was pretty much the same as snorting K from a vet or hospital or imported from mexico or india whatever, except for the adulterant thats usually in them.

They're not usually sold as K bombs.. Ketamine users want crystals/powder or vials, not a pill to crush up and snort binders, theyre almost always made to mimick ecstasy. And sometimes, they can be strong taken orally. Hey I need a point to get my ketamine retardedness on, and normally snort more at once to K-Hole. But I have had known K pills knock me around, in a different way to when they were snorted later on.. I think its metabolised differently orally. I don't remember what routes metabolise it into norketamine at a greater degree. But i remember it did affect the trip somewhat reading books, papers and experiences years ago.

"Journalist" being the operative word here, especially considering the incredibly simple mistakes the media makes reporting issues which are over there heads (such as the science behind drugs). I mean, Christ, how hard can it be to ring a professor and ask for clarification (a reputable scholar, not a Today Tonight PhD speaker... ie. a real academic)
How else can you explain the bullshit the media perpetuates? Including the following gems:

• GHB is liquid ecstasy
• Amphetamine / methamphetamine / MDMA are all interchangable
• Pseudoephedrine can be used to manufacture amphetamines including speed, ice, and base (all the same goddam thing)
• Any benzodiazapine is a date drug, not just Rohypnol (media has reported Ben Cousins as "possessing the date rape drug diazapem" (Valium).
• Ice is a brand new, more potent form of methamphetamine
• Ritalin does the same thing to brain as cocaine
• Quoting a drug bust as having drugs with value equal to its maximum possible value when sold on the street

Don't want to sound like an idiot...but I thought this was the case? Except that Ritalin has a longer half life and has more of an effect then cocaine.

Let me explain: I thought that coke prevented dopamine from re-uptake, and that Ritalin did the same thing but was more potent.

Or am I just retarded? Please don't let that be the answer...
