Meow,

Curious, who all here amoungst us kats swallow their drip? Who all spits it? I find sometimes that swallowing the drip can cause nauseau but a more potent effect of the k. Is this true? Will swallowing the drip allow the k to hit you more?

Will swallowing the drip allow the k to hit you more?

yes. lately i even try to put most of the drip under my tongue and when i succeed it results in a much stronger trip. spiting out the drip seems like blasphemy to me :)

Orally administered ketamine is poorly absorbed, swallowing the drip won't hurt anything aside from making some people nauseous.

mmmmmmm delicious minty chemical snot of confusion.... waahhhhh......... I never get nausea on ketamine. Oh wait actually one time i did a bunch of ketamine and ate a big bowl of chilli, then went to a park and went on the swing set. When I got off the swing set the world wouldn't stop moving back and forth and I lost the chilli!

I don't find the drip nearly significant enough to uhm, find a solution for it or worry about what to do with it. Also I switched to I.M. injection removing any drip issues altogether. But compared to to other drugs I think K is totally acceptable and when it starts to hit it makes any subsequent drip even less bothersome.

What I do find interesting, and what happens as THE alert for when effects start, even when I inject, is a sort of cough. A double-cough a friend of mine once called it. It clearly marks a transition between feeling the K running as an undercurrent for me, maybe even as it passes the tongue in the blood stream? Who knows exactly.
It's 'kind of' in the same category as a repulsive 'yuck'-bbrbrrrrrrr reaction only there is not really any real aversion. Just a bump to get over, passing in no more than a second.

Does that ring a bell with anyone?

^ i've never injected K, sorry

But I remember reading that the human stomach converts ketamine to norketamine which is not too psychoactive. Regardless, everyone I know swallows their drip and loves to snort shit.

Personally I'm not sure why anyone would spit out the drip. It is an active substance and although some people blame Norketamine for the nausea sometimes associated with Ketamine, and this may be partly true, I suspect higher doses and combinations with alcohol are usually to blame.

I've only had noticeable nausea with Ketamine twice, and both times were extremely high doses, and I've always swallowed the drip. I've also found that when taking very high doses, even those who spit up the drip still receive the same level of nausea, and so I think it's mostly a habit developed out of rumours than based on any real fact.

I do that too; put the drip under my toung nearly each time, atleast when I think about it; else I just swallow it, I never got nausea on ketamine in my life; not even when combining it with stuff that makes most people nauseous (such as ketamine with ghb or ketamine with codeine or oxycodone). Only combining with alcohol occasionally makes me feel less then perfect, but I never drink alcohol anymore.
