Ketamine quality over time

So got this question ive been wondering about,
What is the best way to store ketamine powder so it doesn't break down or go bad ?

I understand optimal quality can't be restored forever but a way to keep it from going bad too quickly.

Ketamine salt is extremely stable and you shouldn't observe any loss in potency over time. However, just to be safe the most effective way to store many chemicals is by dissolving in distilled water and storing in a dark and cold environment. I imagine that this is a bit over-kill though, and you would probably be fine with skipping the dissolving step and just sticking your crystals in a dark air-tight container and throwing it in the fridge.

I had 2 grams of ketamine that I kept in sub-optimal conditions (a plastic baggy in my sock drawer) for about a year and didn't notice any loss in potency.

Dissolving in water tends to increase rate of degradation does it not?
