Ketamine - Potential as an antidepressant?

Hi there bluelighters. I was hoping to get the opinions of anybody with an understanding, or potentially any experience in self-medicating depression with low doses of ketamine (insufflated). I'm a periodic recreational user of ketamine, mainly because I enjoy the 'out-of-body' experience it seems to provide. Anyway, for me, low doses (~20-30mg) of ketamine seems to work well as a general mood-enhancer while not totally disassociating myself. Has anybody else observed this, and does anybody have any opinions on this as a potential use for this substance?

[Sorry if this is pretty poorly written - needless to say I'm writing this after a fat old line :D]

I was prescribed intranasal ketamine for depression. I started drawing the spray solution into a needle and IM. Tried to IV, couldn't. For people with addiction issues like me, ketamine is a bad idea...I put it on par with opiates in terms of addictive potential. At least for me. ON the other hand there was no detox which isn't bad considering I IMed about a gram a week towards the end.You really shouldn't underestimate how compelling this drug is IMO. I can't even think about how compelling MXE would be. Ahhhhh...

Yes, ketamine is short acting, but the antidepressant effect seems to be longer-lived than the dissociative FX. Doses I have seen are about ~1mg/kg IV.

Bloody hell, I'm assuming you're not from Europe if they'd prescribe you Ketamine for depression?
Regardless, did it work? Did you ever consider evaporating the liquid as to separate the K?

it's too short-acting, no?

I don't know about you but on a K 'comedown' (for lack of a better word) I feel really warm inside, like the feeling you get when you remember good memories. It kinda clears my head.
