I thought I might pass this along!

I recently tried ketamine for the first time and had a blast! It was very strange, but not in a bad way.

My drug use history has included a lot of psychedelics, but very few dissociatives. I have done nitrous a couple of times (maybe 3 times) and never PCP.

On the psychedelic side I have done a lot... everything from freebase DMT to chugging pedro juice (yuck!). So when I tried ketamine for the first time a few days ago... I was really surprised!

First I measured out 180 mg of powder I had dried out. I separated this into about 8 lines and did four of them in each nostril... a few minutes later I was tasting the drip... not really as bad as some things I've tasted but not too good either.

I layed down in my bed and turned the lights out.... and gradually my mind was drifting away from my body... I was taken to a very dark place where I could see a lot of very strange things... theses were thoughts in the very back of my mind that you can't normally notice with your conscious mind.

I would imagine an object and my interpretation of it would be very different than normal. At the same time, this interpretation appeared to be truer than what I would call conscious thought.

All the while, I was experiencing very strange sensations of moving up and down and spinning around. At one point I sunk deep into my mattress.... a few minutes later I was expelled by the mattress.

And all of this felt completely 100% real...

There was no buzz with ketamine, only a feeling of dissociation which wasn't pleasant or unpleasant... but very neutral imo. This is in contrast to most psychedelics that have very pronounced "good feeling" buzzes.

The experience seemed to last a very very long time, but only lasted about an hour in "sober" time. During this time I could barely move and just hung out on my bed under some covers.

So I would say that this drug was very unique and unlike anything I've every done before. I plan to do it again in a few months.

Welcome to ketamine. I would recommend trying lower doses in a social setting, can be at least amusing. Note to self ; buy more Ket.

A very hight dose of K is unlike anything i have consumed, but glad you found it enjoyable, or as you put it neutral.

Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it to the right place! :)

thats why i love dissociatives. You can spin around do flips move up and down etc and it feels so real. Just a bummer I cant always afford ketamine as its pretty expensive where I live. So I have to stick to high dose DXM

Its interesting you say there is no buzz to K. I too found this on my first high dose experience. However one begins to notice (or develop possibly) a mild euphoria with the experince after a few times. My theroy is this 'buzz' grows over time, leading some regular users into habitual behaviour.

Ket is meant to be the 'king' of disscociatives - least harmful and most potent - i have used nitrous but no other disscociatives, anyone backup this claim?

Well I have heard that PCP is "better" and "much worse omg" but I don't know of any other dissociatives other than nitrous, pcp, dxm and ketamine.

It is really odd... I don't see how people could incorporate ketamine into their daily life. Mind you I don't think I went into the K-hole... I may have been close but my thoughts were still human-like.

For example you take mushrooms and you will 'feel' good (though you might get scared), or even escstacy makes you 'feel' good. With ket it seemed like instead of feeling anything, you felt less or nothing... and the experience itself was very odd, but odd in a way that is perpindicular to say a high dose of of freebase DMT.

So I find it hard to understand how people could take it on a daily basis... but I guess we are all different. :\

I f i remember correctly and from emy own experience, tas the psychedelic effects begin to wain the drug acts more on dopamine and opiate receptors

F&B or someone correct me if im psudeosciencing and talking shit ( I may be!)

But it seems unlike the classical domapine 'reward' you migh get from other addictions like gambling or the ritualisation ,and other drugs (or even eating, taking a shit etc); I think K does begin to act on dopamine directly not like coke, but not unlike it either ,as in the similar sense ofa greater affinity to this dopamine reward centre

That and the fact im faily sure k does have some kind of opiate receptor affinity .( i have seen it stop someone rattling) This also seems to occur after prolonged use...I never use to get an opiate like glow when i first started. But who knows I could be talikng out of my arse :\

On a side note, alcohol apparently acts on opiates, only or to a greater extent on alcoholics. This is but one of many 'organic' hypothesis in the school that sees alcoholism as a genetic disease.

But i guess all receptors are intimately linked; ie the dopanime 'rushes' from the serotonigernic MDMA or the norephrine 'uplift' from pschdelics.

Right time to sit in pseud-corner until admonished by my elders and wisers...

ive been working myself up to k-hole dose lately but i find i get real bad anxiety when coming up. would mixing with alittle ativan cause any harm?

^ you risk respiratory depression for one. if you're feeling anxious on high level ketamine doses, you're better off slowing down and trying to work through your feelings step by step rather than just a blanket benzo dose. incidentally, when were you thinking of dosing with the lorazepam and how much?

this is a bit too short for a trip report, but still easy to identify with, i've had the mattress spit me out a few times :D

highly agree. In a social setting, K can be more fun than shrooms or LSD. IMO.

This seems to be one drug that affects different people VERY differently.
