Ketamine - Experienced - Shooting K is too intense.

i've been a regular ketamine user for about a year. i took a break of about two years when my trips would end with horrible insomnia and anxiety. i was also starting to see conpiracys against me that where totally insane when i think back.

had a few drinks last night, did a few lines of speed, and decided to IV some K. i've read a few accounts of people IVing K, but it is not recommended and seen as dangerous / unpleasant.. but i still decided to have a go.

eyeballed a nice pile of pure ketamine xtals and dissolved in saline by adding some heat and stirring. filtered through a piece cotton and drawn up in the syringe. the remaining solution was very clear and a little thick.

inserted the needle in a big vein in the crook of my elbow, drew back, and slowly pressed the plunger.

when i withdrew the needle i could feel a little lightheaded but after about five seconds i started to hear bells ringing not unlike those heard when doing cocaine shots or a big dose of nitrous. all colours started to warp and a collapsed on the sofa. it was an instant K-hole.
i could not move and almost blacked out, i also can't remember much of the trip.. it was to intense and overpowering.

the experience seemed to last about an hour but total time was about 10 minutes. a definite hangover was present: headache, nausea and instant depression for about an hour.


conclusion: shooting K is way to intense and short lived, the trip was so powerful that it left me humbled and confused.
not a recommendation.
 
maybe a lower dose without other drugs in your system would be a more pleasurable experience?

one time i did a line of K after 4-5 beers, all i could do was sit on the couch and stare straight ahead becuase moving or closing my eyes cuased massive spins and nausia.
 
Have you tried IM'ing it?
I never liked the drip and fucvked nose feeling you get from snorting lots of K. I would try IM if it didn't bruise?

i think it becomes a sort of acquired taste almost with time .. though a sprinkle of icing sugar helps :)
 
I didn't mind that chemical smell it has, okay the taste isn't as bad as speed/mdma i guess... But, it really did feel like it was doing damage to my nose..
 
Yah what made you decide to IV it, Ketamine is more of an IM type of drug, maybe you should try that next time.
 
IV'ing Ketamine is one of my favorite things to do man! Obviously it's a matter of perference...and yes, perhaps you dosed too high for your first time IV'ing it..
I never get depressed or have anxiety afterwords...K is just too good to me :)
 
i can't IM this shit since it's already cooked. and i can see how it might be pleasurable if you mix it with some coke or speed, or just use a lower dosage. but this was too much too fast :|

yeah, exactly. You gotta be completely aware of what you are doing (i know that sounds kind of stupid and obvious, it makes more sense when you are shooting up K) as you are spiking yourself. Dont get all into the moment, like enjoying the site and feeling of the spike going in, the blood floating out, etc...like you do with the very pleasurable body drugs...you have very little time to pull out and get things in order...so you should be doing it in a precise and mechanical fashion where you almost dont even need a mind to complete the act....I always did smaller dosages for shooting up after my very first time...i loaded in approximately 150mg and while i was still pushing the plunger in, i forgot what i was doing, who i was, that i even excisted...fucking crazy shit...it was my very first time doing K too! ahhaha.8o
 
I love ketamine, and just recently IV'd the last of my vial (a measly 20 mgs). Still, I got quite a nice buzz, but it wasn't quite like what I'm used to (I prefer IM; in fact IM k is probably my favorite drug so long as pot is involved somewhere).

The way I figure it is you IM about a good dose, for me (200 lbs, good shape; relevant because body fat somehow affects drug tolerance) is about 200 mgs for a k-hole. I figure if I cut that to 150 mgs, IM it in two spots at 75 mgs (for safety's sake; you could probably do all 150 in one spot but do you really want a sterile absesce if you fuck up and shoot between a muscle and fat?), and then IV'ed 20 mgs I'd be in for one hell of a ride.

Like grabbing a coral snake by the tail, the timing for this is crucial. I have noticeable discordination within 1-3 minutes of IM'ing, so that is the time frame to IV. I guess the way to do it is prepare the syringes, tie off, then IM. You should be able to find your vein, register, and shoot within three minutes if you've got good veins and technique.
 
IV K is too fast of a comeup. I prefer IM over IV as it is just as powerful(with a little more mgs used for IM).
But IM K is definetly a great trip.

How much did you IV?
i usually prefer 50-75mg IV...
 
Wow that's crazy. I've always wondered what it would be like to IV Ketamine, especially since i'll almost definitely never try that route myself. I can't even imagine peaking on ketamine that quickly. The ascent from snorting it is fast enough for me, and that takes ~50x as long or so 8(

Its a pretty difficult experience to put into words, since generally 6 or so seconds after the plunger goes down one is launched to a wavelength beyond words... It is definitely the strongest rush of all things I've IVed, and that is not necessarily a good thing (nor is it bad though - its just.. Ketamine ;)).
 
never shot k before.. i think it would be interesting to feel it once though,though i am afraid of needles
 
IVing Ketamine is = smoking 5 meo dmt (for me)
they both hit you instantly like a ton of bricks.
 
There's nothing all too different between IV'ing K or IM'ing it's besides the duration of onset and length of effects. The overall effects are slightly different, and IV'ing is slightly more economical. IV'ing isn't inheriently bad. It's all getting into your bloodstream one way or another.

What was inheriently bad about your trip (i feel) was that you 'eyeballed' the dose and did it after using meth. some of the most horrible trips of mylife have come afer using a psychedelic with meth. they just don'y play well together, at least not for me.

and k just ain't for everbody either ya know. you either love it or you hate. personally, i'm madly in love. ;)

yeah i know, rssponding to a post from 05', but you can still mix the powder back into solution using disttiled water or saline solution. just make sure you get the measurements right, 100mg/1Ml, filter, and have fun...
 
^ He's a dutchie so 't was probably regular amph. Still not a good combination if u ask me.. Not that I had any "real" experience with either...
