Il give it a shot laters then :D, aye my tolerance is through the roof, what length/gauge needle would you recommend? took me long enough to figure out that those long 20g uns needles wernt good for my veins :/. And is there much more of a risk with dissolving and filtering street stuff for im?
 
^ IM is inherently risky as you are introducing a foreign substance (which isn't gonna be sterile unless you use vials and a sterile technique) into tissue where it can sit there and potentially form an abscess. IVing obviously has a lot of risks, but they are predominantly long term - the injected material is swept away in the bloodstream and not left sitting where bacteria can breed. You are actually more likely to get complications from IM administration than IV unless you miss your IV shot.. which is why IMing heroin never caught on apart from people who have fucked their veins and are desperate..

Micron filters reduce the risk a lot - I would never IM without one, and IMing street drugs is not something I would ever say is safe TBH.. was a recent thread in Other Drugs about someone developing an abscess requiring surgical drainage and causing septicaemia and threads like that are not at all infrequent.

Micron Filtering megathread - also called wheel filters, can be bought dirt cheap from the Exchange Supplies website etc.

20G needles are what hospitals usually use for IM injections, you really want then to be an inch or inch and a half long otherwise you'll give yourself a subcutaneous injection instead of an intramuscular one, which is even riskier as the blood supply is a lot worse. You can use standard pins, and many people do, but if you're not skinny then you might want to get something bigger..
 
Not too big on length/guage numbers but you can get away with 1ml standard insulin syringes in the bicep or thigh - arse too if you're skinny. I mostly use 2ml barrels with either 23G x 1.25" or 21G x 1.5" tips cos that's wot they give us in the IM swap-packs round here. Latter is on the largish side but seems more comfortable for some reason.

As for using street ket... you takes yer chances (HR) but I've never had a problem. If you know for damn sure you can trust your supplier then... Your call. But I called yes for years without losing a limb yet. I also never IM street ket as such generally (cos I know my supplier... when I have one).

PS: Ms Eff is obviously bang on with the micron filtering thang. You can get them free from some needle exchanges or buy online. HR and all that :)

IMing in general makes me nervous as fuck, to be honest. Only lack of veins for the digging brought me here. Must admit I do tend to IM MXE off tinterwebz sans micron filters... well... always so far. Do use cig filter at least. Still fuckin' stoopid though. Will make a point of investing/acquiring from needle exchange some proper microns though cos it's not summat to be fucking about with really. I like my thigh just the way it is.

Indeed, thighs are useful things :)

I don't mean to come across as preachy at all but IM sketches me out too and it is by far one of the riskiest things you can do with something that isn't sterile. Good to hear about the micron acquisition!
 
Not preachy, Ms Eff. Just common sense. I had some somewhere round here meself once 8)

IMing gives me the willies and always has done. But good to have a timely reminder. Never be too careful... never been too careful 8o

PS: On the sterility thang, how much - if at all - does bog standard boiling up in the spoon before (not quite always micron but always at least ciggy) filtering actually kill the beasties that lurk? Not gonna be ideal but does it at least count a bit towards HR for the non-HR-as-they-should-be-sometimes kinda fella? Better than nowt I spose. But consider my botty spanked on the micron thang :o

PPS: I only ask cos I know I've seen some folks saying boiling the juice is just pointless but that surely can't be right.

Sounds like the things. Different places call them by different names. Does it mention a pore size at all? Can't imagine what else they'd be if not a micron/wheel/whatchamacallit filter. They even sell 'em on Amazon... cost a bleedin' fortune though 8o

PS: "Sterifit" are the freebie ones I use (when I remember to use :o) so hope they at least half decent for freebies. Probably less than perfect for those wanting to be ultra-HR (and rightly so) but it's what they give out round here either way.

Haha I am fond of them Shams just for the multicolouredness, but agreed. Still, prevents them from being used more than once (as pins should never be ofc!) No good at all for IMing for sure.
 
If i do give it a shot, ass or thigh? No microns so a cig filter will have to do if i do im
 
I mostly use my thigh due to a slight *ahem* mishap and oversight one time I didn't check for lack of blood when I did it in me arse once. Ketamine + artery = Very Bad Thing :|

With the thigh you can't help but see what you're doing. But personal preference really, I suppose.

Incidentally, seeing as I mentioned it - do make sure to pull back and check you're not in a vein/artery before plunging the plunger. Mishaps no fun...

Ms Eff: Don't like those multicoloured syringes cos they seem to be rickety as fuck - had several tips fly off randomly (not whilst in me thank fuck) and several more just plain explode 8o
 
Agreed thigh is a good bet, with your arse you do actually have to be careful, there's a pretty important nerve you could hit too so best not to go for that unless you've been trained - and even then, hitting the right place on your own arse cheek is not going to be easy!

Only thing with thigh is there is often quite a lot of subcutaneous tissue so you're probably going to want a 1.5" needle.. as Shambles said, pull back to check you aren't in a vessel. 90 degree angle, needle in most of the way but not alllll the way just in case it breaks off :\

Shams needle tips coming off, eeep! They are a little cheap-looking, but that is really bad. Should let exchange supplies know perhaps..
 
wooohaaaay K is back! got some in south london 20 on the gizzle. It was powder so i thought it was gonna be shit, did a bump, as soon as i smelled that smell i knew it. then did more and was gone for the night;
 
^^ Been meaning to complain about them actually, Eff. Freaks the fuck outta ya to have the tip shoot across the room just as you're about to make use of it. Not to mention the vittles spraying everywhere :!

On the thigh-sticking thang, am I right in thinking that the best part is the outside/top bit of it to go for? Top right quadrant if you drew a cross on it kinda thing. Inside thigh bit of a no-no cos it's got big ol' veins and stuff in there... and likely sore as fuck too. Really should refresh me memory of whereabouts the big nervy bits and things are meself actually - easy to get lax and make a boo-boo.
