I heard K can help your opiate wtihdrawals.

I am in a transition phase from methadone, did H for about 3-4 days, now waiting 24-36 hours and doing a little k to help get me there

i read k binds to some opiod receptors...does anyone have any experience switching to bupe (subutex in my case) while having done K recently?

Maybe you can tell us more detail so we can get a clearer picture of your sit uation: like how much methadone u were on and for how long?

I remember that k binds to a neighbor (close relation) of an opioid. It is mentioned in wikipedia.

I personally don't think that a little k can hurt you. I have done it myself and the k worked for me as long as my w/d wasn't full blown. Bc when my w\d are full blown I am in so much discomfort, i can barely even get myself together to sniff a line of k, even if it is right next to me. Very pathetic.

Was on 70mg methadone, 21st would have been the last day i usd methadone (possibly 20th but I think 21st) so today makes almost 80 hours since last dose of meth

during those 80 hours ive been using H, last dose of H was just about 24 hours ago IV'd

then I did K a bit ago..helped with my withdrawals, wanna do some more, I am just scared of getting precipitated withdrawal or something becuase of it...

Update: No methadone since Aug 20 2010: The K seemed to have no effect on precipitated withdrawal considering I was dosing K right up until I dosed my Subutex. Also, While I took a whole 8mg tablet the 1st day (or dissolved under tongue rather) I felt fine on 6mg. Even with low doses of Clonidine I will felt hot/cold which was my main withdrawal symptom..I think it would be worse without it though.

Also, once I took my initial subutex dose I was also using k, which seemed to have no ill effects interfering with my next subutex dose.

I mean the first few days of Suboxone will never be great unless its the first time you've ever used it and your tolerance is low (i really think its the tolerance/Dependancy and not the first time thing. If you give your body like 5 days you will feel better on Suboxone and you can be reducing your dose during that time.

Honestly I was on 80mg methadone for 6 months and did this meth-dope/k-sub transition and it was pretty pain free. Not how you'd imagine it to be with all the horror stories and BS like you have to be at 30mg or less (not true) and precipitated withdrawal.

Since then I have transitioned twice from 1-3 days of H use at pretty high levels (due to meth making my tolerance go through the roof I guess)

On the 1st day (or first few days) I would just get hot and cold flashes which I hate. Maybe chills is a better word

------------------------------

I haven't been an angel or just clean on suboxone though. My tolerance is very high from the methadone. I am not trying to dicksize cause it blows having a large tolerance. But lets just say if I am doing H, i would do a few shots a day depending, and a Bundle of what people rate a 6/6.5 on the new stamp thread gives me a baby rush and half assed high compared to people shooting 4 bags of the same shit.

The only thing I can think is the done got my tolerance up.

Its crazy though, I think all this switching gback and forth has helped my dependency a lot. Cause even if I shoot a brick in a day its like I am not withdrawing BAD even 24 hours after my last shot which would usually be a bun. Even today, I wanted 32 hours since my last shot, which I just used phenazepam to help me sleep. When I couldnt sleep anymore, I finally took the sub, but I was by no means in severy or even heavy withdrawals. Maybe moderate at best.

I feel a tiny bit better now that I took 6mg bupe, atleast I know whatever im feeling isn't going to get worse lol.

Anywqy just wanted to let everyone know, the methadone to bupe transition is 100% doable, dont let your cliniic strong arm you into tapering to 30mg.

Still working away from that Methadone SIAL?;) I'm kidding; just giving you a hard time. That's awesome that you've gone almost a month without it; Congrats.

As far as Ketamine, yeah, I'd say this is somewhat unexplored territory. I'm sure its been done, but experience reports are minimal. I don't think that Ketamine would cause precipitated w/d in your situation. Any activity it has at your mu receptors is pretty minimal if I remember correctly, and though it also has binding activity at your Sigma sites, that's not really a concern one way or the other.

I can't say this with 100% certainty, but I'd suspect the mu binding affinity of Ketamine is very low, and not enough to be out-competed by Buprenorphine so as to cause precip. w/d. Therefore, I'd say go for it, use enough here and there to provide appreciable relief, but just don't go overboard.

using a benzo or ketamine as a transition between full agonists and bupe is a REALLY good idea. totally avoid precip wd this way. even ghb would be ok. hell pregabalin in high doses even.
