Ketamine at the Movies

Whats up BL? Im doing my first dose of K tomorrow, and my friends and I were talking about going to see the new Harry Potter movie while tripping. My question is, does K make you do weird physical movements or anything that would make other people at the theater freak out and call the cops, or is it subtle enough that you could do it in a public place without avoiding attention?
 
You won't be moving much. You won't be speaking at all. You'll be anesthetized and you'll be doing what anesthetized people do: nothing.

While you're in the K-hole (for about 45 minutes), you will not understand what's going on in the movie. But that's fine, because the K-hole will be far more entertaining. You're just at the movies so that when you come out of the K-hole, you're in an interesting place. When you come down, the screen and the sounds will be enhanced. Then you'll sober up while thinking about how awesome that K-hole is and how pointless/bizarre/profound the movie is. Then you'll leave.

Many experienced users have done K at the movies without incident.

That's pretty much it.
 
Awesome! One more thing on the dose. Do you want to lie down instantly after snorting it? Or would one have time to dose in the bathroom and make it back to the theater?
 
Youve got about 5 minutes or so after snorting a good size line (100-200mg) before you are useless. I would honestly just do it when the lights dim, sit in the back row and you'll be good.
 
While working at the local movie theater, I had access to do a lot of dug related things with K being one of them. If you don't K-Hole things can get really funky and you'll sorta just stare at the screen. If you can start with a low dose and make sure you have more to finish the movie with. All should go well though :)


My best time was dropping 4 hits of WoW blotter while trying to watch the Hangover. Ate them as the ads finished up and the trailers began playing. It wasn't 15-20 mins until I got up, left and went up stairs to talk to my manger. I sat up there for hours while he talked about DnD and that is how I got started playing the game :)
 
I always enjoyed going to the theatre and IMing about 300mg just as the movie was starting. Ahh.....good times:\
 
I was going to say great idea, until I read you were going to watch Harry Potter :p I'd keep the dose low, and top up if needed, so you can still follow the movie; I find dissociatives in reasonable doses add to the immersion in the movie, and add a bit of confusion. And it's kinda pointless and potentially dangerous/embarrassing to K-hole in a cinema... But given the movie, maybe you'd be better off in a hole!

Going to the theater on a few hits is so much fun. I never seem to be able to pay much attention to the movie though.
 
if your first ketamine trip involves going to the movies, its going to look like the scene in fear and loathing where they do ether and go into the carnival... heh
 
Personally,as it is your first time dosing i would recommend doing so in a place you are comfortable with, purely so you can get a feel for the drug and thexperience. Ketamine is like going to the movies anyway :D

If you are adamant on doing so, I'd only do a small amount. Mind you, with this thread being created some time ago you may well have already done so.
 
Yeah doing ketamine alone in a comfortable place is like watching the best movie in the world and gently floating about if you do enough :D
 
my first experience was about a 150mg rail, and there was just some hip hop in the background but wow...what a hole! i remember a couple dudes coming in to buy k while i was holing on the couch and they were kinda sorta laughing at me, i just gave em the thumbs up. i enjoy also doing sub hole amounts (100mg IM) and just talking about life with friends too...
 
I wouldn't do it. For some people (like me) K makes me so nauseous that even sitting upright isn't an option.

If I had been in that situation I would have puked, fallen on the floor, puked some moor, and probably gotten arrested. Luckily the first time I did it was in my bed and I just lay there trying to move everyonce in a while. After over an hour I got up and went to the bathroom, almost puked, and just went to bed.
 
i would not have my first time trying k be in a theater. if you get the dose right, no problem. but the right dose is so small.

why not do it on your couch with a DVD on?
 
Why is everybody suggesting he's going to K-hole his first time? I personally wouldn't do it at a theater, as that's money wasted on the movie and you won't even know what the hell is happening in it. Save it for when you get home, it'll be much more enjoyable :).
 
i always recommend trying any new drug in a home setting before using it out somewhere public. But you could still do a small amount earlier in the day or preferably a day or two before to see how it affects you, just in case you happen to get particularly nauseous or something. And it does seem kinda like a waste of money to do it in a theater, especially given the prices these days. Just get 12 or 15 worth more ketamine, ha.
 
Shit not sure how you are going to watch a movie whilst holing on ket?? I usually cant see past about 5m from my eyes, everything involves me closing one eye and still then nothing makes sense.
 
If I watch films at home while on ketamine a few things generally happen; if what I am watching is slightly absurdistic in nature I'll typically find it 'absolutely amazing' and become more immersed. Typically everything outside the screen looks very distorted but the screen itself is somewhat clear, although it'll look as if frames are skipping or as if sound isn't synchronised even though in reality it is. I often get mild to severe double or even four times vision on ketamine, but usually I don't even notice if I'm very into what I am watching even though if I pay attention I might notice there are two of all the faces. Other then getting really into what you're watching you'll typically still be very aware of the other ketamine effects and may at times be distracted (especially that body bending / pulling / sliding and twisting and especially static in the senses can distract but in a good way since these are desired effects).

Now on slightly higher doses it becomes different; immersion is still there, much like watching stuff stoned, but you might forget what just happened, or worse, after watching realising you missed about 10 minutes even though you were watching it, you just didn't form a memory. The weirdest one is when I get confused about what is real and what is not and that I litterally have to remind myself that what is behind the glass is not real and that it does not influence reality and that I can not influence what is there and that it is not dynamic and real-time but has already been made before somewhere else. This confusion usually repeats and can be quite weird.

Overal; pretty fun, but you might have to watch the movie again sober if you're actually interested in it. Movement is impaired in any dose, but even on a high dose you typically do have 2-5 minutes to find a suitable place to sit down, so if you walk fast to your chair after taking it, that should be doable. I wouldn't suggest dosing tóó high, k-holing is much more fun at home in the dark without so much distraction.
 
theres nothing like a nice IM dose of ket before a good intense movie IMO. for me IM ketamine always makes me feel like i am in the movie- i have a few friends who concur as well. be warned tho, maake sure its the right movie. i wouldnt wanna watch 'requiem for a dream' on ket.jeeezus no. i find ketamine to be extremely emtional and deeply spiritual at ~.7-1cc for a human being of normal weight

i once watched the end of the godfather at a friends house w one other person who'd IM k with me. the climax of the movie had me in tears and as i heard my friend say aloud "oh god this is it!" panic ensued and down the spiral of memories i went. set and setting bro, dont forget!

im pretty sure fantasy stuff like harry potter is safwe grounds tho and if anything will bring forth good childhood memories and emotions..
 
Ketamine + mephedrone + avatar in 3d at the cinema = most amazing experience in the movies ever!!!!!!!
