Ketamine Appreciation thread

Public Service Announcement

If, for any reason, you're taking any of the tricyclic antidepressants DO NOT just think it's OK to take ketamine on top of them. I didn't check for interactions and this morning paid a rather expensive price for not doing so, namely after IMing 150mg of ket I had a fuck-off seizure that's left me looking like I've gone three rounds with a veloceraptor and scared the shit out of mrs f&b who witnessed me thrashing around like a fish out of water that had just been hit with a tazer. I have no memory at all of it happening, just of coming around with blood all over the place and my other half ashen white like she'd seen a ghost

Luckily there's no serious damage (but fuck my knee is hurting and refusing to do much in the bending department - probably because of the 4cm gouge that's been taken out of it), but I feel that this needs to be made public in the interests of harm reduction (which after all is the raison d'etre of Bluelight). In this case I feel that any personal public humiliation arising from this is a small price to pay if it prevents even one person going through what I experienced this morning.

For once, I belive this is a valid case of 'do as I say, not as I do'


Off to the chemists for more dressings, Savlon & ibuprofen :|

Out of interest, which tricyclic? I've taken loads of ket on mirtazapine with no probs at all.
 
Yeah, bar my 'battle scars'! As to the tricyclic, it was lofepramine (Gamanil) - get it for my SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Basically means no ketamine for this silly boy until the days have been getting longer for a while (generally end of Feb).

Something to look forward to I suppose! =D
 
I have not had any success with psychedelic experiences on Ketamine. I have a medical vial (Cheminova) that is 115.2mg Ketamine Chlorhydrate/1ml (equal to 100mg of base). The first time, I did 90mg base (0.9CC) IM and I did not go into the k-hole, just felt extremely inebriated and couldn't walk. Second time, I did 120mg IM and I don't remember the first hour of the experience, but I broke my toe trying to walk. Do you think 120mg base (1.2ml) brought me to a fully anaesthetic state? Can anyone give me some advice on how I could reach the k-hole and have an intense psychedelic experience? I have 300-400mg left.

Do I need to lay down and focus on the experience with my eyes closed? Is there some thing I'm doing wrong? Should I maybe try mixing it with 25mg 4-ACO-DMT fumarate for a more visual/interesting experience?

I'd suggest laying a mattresss on the floor, making the room as 'neutral' (little/no furniture or posters etc), turn off all lights and disconnect/switch off phone and yes, close your eyes!

Walking around on a near k-hole dose? You could quite easily have walked down the stairs without having any idea you were walking at all...I cant begin to imagine anything beyond a twitch or wiggle of a finger whilst in a k hole.

And as far as mixing with anyother drug goes - not only are you yet to see the tip of the iceberg, you haven't yet distinguished the distant 'iceberg' from the surrrounding mountain range a million miles away in the distance!
 
Watching newbies taking ket is so fun (as long as they haven't over done it).
The phrase "this is so awesome!" and "this is so weird" always get banded about.

K is almost always uncut where I come from, even if you get it from some shady dealer... The whole story about cutting is sadly idiotic anyway, imho it's mostly the fault of stingy consumers who aren't willing to pay twice the money for twice the concentration of a specific substance.
Let's say a dealer buys a key of amp, 30% clean (which is common around here), pays 5k Euros for it. Now he could cut it down to average street niveau (~5%) and charge 10 Euros per gram or he could sell it like it is for 60 Euros per gram. Noone will pay those 60 though... sigh. I'll stop my mumblejumble now, but imho it's the lack of education of consumers that forces the dealers to cut their shit.

Was at a wedding reception earlier that nite. Trying to dance to a cheesy wedding band on k is a tad difficult. Musta looked like I just escaped from a mental institution! =D
 
some K is certainly more trippy, while others are more sedating.. sometime ya get the bad boy ket, dark stuff :D

One isomer of ketamine (think its the S+? can't really remember) is far more potent and is responsible for the anaesthetic properties while the other is less so and is responsible for the dissociative effects. That might be the other way round, but I remember that one isomer is generally prefered for anaesthesia
