I’ve always been a big fan of trip reports, so after thoroughly exhausting erowid and bluelight’s archives over the year I thought I’d try my hand at writing one of my own 
A vast majority of my drug experiences have been with opiates but the other day I tried Ketamine for the first time so I thought that report would be a good, fresh and untainted experience to lose my trip report virginity on.
So this trip all started the other day when I went out and bought a tub of 10% Ketamine cream intended for external topical application to help out with my bad back pain. Picking up the cream I was quite giddish because it was only the day before that I had learnt of the existence of this cream for treating pain. I was in a rush when I picked up the cream so I threw the cream in the car and didn’t give it much more thought till the next day. The next evening I asked my girlfriend to give me a massage with the cream. She did, using copious amounts while doing so, which greatly helped to lower the sensitivity of my back but no other effects were noted. That night I decided I would try abusing the cream to get a buzz and this is where the trip report really starts.
The Ketamine cream I have has mysterious quality to it, unlike most pharmaceuticals I have no idea what chemicals are in it other than the 10% ketamine constituent. I decided that snorting the cream would be impossible as it is quite thick, and rectal administration may be a good way to apply it however I’m not sure of what to use to do that and what it may do to my ass (irritate ect). My thoughts then turned to oral which I initially ruled out as I figured the cream would most likely be toxic and may contain an emetic substance (to make the user vomit if injested). Despite this I was desperate to try it and thought if taking a small portion I could safely and comfortably determine the likely effects of a full ketamine dose, the likely amount I would have to dose to get the desired effects and whether or not the cream contains an emetic substance.
T 0h00m – Place tiny drop of cream on finger (viscous yellow substance) and place on tongue. Tastes like bitter, lemon with a chemical taste; not pleasant.
T0h02m – Decide parachuting will be the easiest way of ingesting the cream. Place a tiny blob of cream (roughly half the volume of a pinky finger tip) on a piece of tissue paper, wrap up and swallow with water. I was aiming at ingesting a threshold dose but looking back on it may have ingested up to 500mgs.
T0h10m – Eagerly await the effects while reading bluelight posts and watching Nikita (TV show). Thinking they will start to kick in soon. Can’t feel anything yet.
T0h15m – Think I feel something....Nope just placebo, nothing happening. Bit disappointed about the onset latency.
T0h25m – Still watching Nikita, episode is over half way over and still not feeling anything. I’m thinking at this point that I must have dosed under the threshold dose or that the cream just doesn’t dissolve in the body.
T0h45m – Finished watching TV ages ago. Watched some youtube videos and now reading up on things on bluelight, sentances are getting harder to read and I attribute that to feeling tired. Feeling let down with the lack of effects and an overwhelming tiredness I decide to go to bed.
T0h47m – Just about to turn the computer off and fall asleep (I’m on my laptop in my bed) and then I notice that I have received a private message. Going in to read this I notice that not the words on the screen are getting really hard to read. What confuses me is I realise that my eyes are focussed and my laptop and myself are steady yet the words are still hard to read. On closer inspection I realise that the words are moving slightly, gelling together and rearranging themselves. Now I cheer up a bit after seeing my first ever non placebo ketamine effect! Yay!
T0h50m – Oddly as slow as it had taken the ketamine to kick in it was now coming on in full force. Just 3 minutes after the last observation and now the words are everywhere. Heck I can’t even make out anything on the screen anymore, the whole monitor just becomes a glowing becon. It’s as if my brain has shut down higher order processing and I’m seeing the raw input generated from each of my eyes simultaneously, as two separate pictures. I can see the world in double, one view from my left eye and one from my right; both being slightly different. Everything in the room takes on a new meaning and persona. Things start to come alive and move. Angles and perspectives change, the laws of physics warp to the extent that would make Einstein seem like an idiot.
T0h55m – By this point I have lost all control of my body. I cannot move at all and even if my body responded to my requests I would have no idea what to tell it. My whole world had just been flipped upside down and inside out. My spirit left my body and started travelling around the room, interacting with objects it collides with, deforming them and creating a 5th dimension to play in.
T0h1h05m – Everything started going black. I was really tired now and struggling to stay awake. To be honest I was shit scared. I had no idea if the drug was still escalating its effects and I was worried if I fell asleep I would never wake up. I willed myself so hard to stay awake, and I did.
T0h30m – After what seemed like forever things are finally settling down. Objects have taken on their original shapes. The movement in the room is subsiding. And I can feel my body again. Relief floods over me that I survived this first encounter with Ketamine. A smile crosses my face and I get up to go to the toilet. As I stand up I realise that I am still very weak, but manage to get to the toilet fine. After this I freshen up and head to bed.

I learnt from this experience not to fuck around with ketamine or any other anaesthetic drug. Anyone going to use ketamine for the first time, be careful. I also think the oral route may have been very different than the intranasal route due to metabolism of ketamine into norketamine for any who may want to enlighten me in the discussion.
