Keeping down DXM

I've had some good experiences with DXM lately, but have had a hard time keeping down more than about 300mg or 4oz of Tussin. Even spreading out the dose over 1+ hour(s) I still start to feel nausea after about 45min. Then I'll vomit.

I'd like to go for a 3rd/4th plateau trip, but can't manage to get a high enough dose in me without vomiting.

Any tips anyone has used to keep down higher doses?
 
I feel like I've posted this a hundred times in the past few days, but here it is again:

Drink something acidic. DXM is an alkaline substance which will cause the pH level in your stomach to rise, which causes discomfort and nausea. Take your DXM with soda, OJ, lemonade, etc. Benadryl and Ginger are both good suggestions, too. Weed is also good if you know how the combination will affect you - I get anxiety if I toke before I dose the DXM, but obviously your mileage may vary.
 
Thanks for the advise guys. I've tried taking the acidic route with grapefruit juice, but to no avail. I haven't tried any anti-emetics(diphenhydramine being a very weak one) but I haven't gone the ginger or weed route. I'll give the ginger/weed a try and maybe get some promethazine. Thanks again gents.
