Kava Kuestion

I came across some Kava extract and on the bottle it read 55% Kavlactone. Is that a good percentage to feel any effects from the Kava extract? What is Kavalactone (I hope i spelled it correctly)? One more question.....What is the advantage to taking the Kava extract over Kava pills? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kava Kava root is used as a relaxant and is being sold at safeway as a relaxant and "mood elevator". Ok this is what it really dose, i took it instead of sleeping pills cuse of some anxiety i had. anyway liquid form is going to be more potent than pill. Basicly you put a few drops of the extract into a cup of warm water and drink it and not long after it calms you down and if you are really stressed relaxes your muscles and stuff so you can fall asleep. I think you would have to take quite a lot of get "high" and futhermore i think you would end up asleep before you even got there. my suggestion...go to the local health food store and ask them how much you can take and whats its effects are. i really don't know if it can be really dangerous in large doses...let me know what you find out, good luck...although i'd use my $$ on other stuff

While in Fiji I had about 15 bowls of Kava..
All the natives thought I was a madman, but I didn't really feel anything..
Slept well that night though

Kava is nothing.
Really, it's not worth it.
Smoke a bit of weed, and you'll be much more relaxed.

The Kava Kava sold in stores here in America is totally worthless as a rule, regardless of what the supposed kavalactone content is. Kavalactones are the active components of Kava Kava. If you really want to experience Kava, order a pound or so of ground root powder from a reputable source, it's only like 25 dollars. Otherwise, don't bother.
