Upon going to the Kava bar downtown I called and asked a little about the drink and what it does. Girl on the phone said her husband says it feels like liquid valume... I decided I'd give it a try...
I go there at 9PM and ordered a coconut bowl full of the muddy looking/bitter tasting liquid. A bowl of pineapple was also needed to chase the taste away. There were several others there for their first time, some seemed to be enjoying themselves, others were just chillin. Now, kava has a reverse effect on tolerance and I was warned not to "chase the buzz" if I didn't feel it... After about 15-20 minutes I definitely felt a warm, comforting effect come over me and I became very relaxed and happy.
Over the next hour I consumed another bowl, which was a little harder to finish than the first. By this time I had met some new people who had been there for several hours and had been drinking Kratom, which they also serve there. Dude tells me "it feels like a mild-opiate man", so I decided to give that a try... I kid you not, it felt like a mild fucking opiate! haha, seriously, it felt nice and lasted for a good 3-4 hours too... as I was laying in bed that night I had a weird feeling in my stomach and then it clicked, it was the opiate feeling that I normally got after using opiates....
anyways, fun stuff all together, definitely worth trying
