Kava Kava for Barbiturate potentiation?

Would it be safe? In specific; Phenobarbital and low'ish quality Kava capsules(not sure the %). I was wondering if it is safe, or potentiality whorth it? Also, since Phenobarbital increases enzymes in your liver, and Kava is pretty heavy in your liver, would it be ok on your liver?
(I just don't want to go around mixing different 'downers' without knowing first...)

You don't know the dose of the kava? For that reason alone it's dangerous . The two drugs , kava and phenobarbital, both depress the central nervous system .'There is a great chance of synergism between the two drugs. I think it's a bad idea, at least because of the unknown dosage.of the kava, but more importantly, respiratory depression., which can kill in a few different ways. Without more details, I have to say no.

450 mg capsules. I don't know the %kavakoloids of each mg however, and is kava really that intense on your CNS? Seems a lot more mellow

I find the kava capsules weak myself, but have had strong kava plenty of times before. Things like kava, which is an CNS depressant can synergies with the barbiturate, and be unsafe.
