I looked this up on BL, but after reading what I've found, I wanted to know if it was safe to take a LOW dose of Tylenol with Kava Kava. More specifically,
1000mgs of APAP. I was stupid and bought the capsules (it's all I could find on such short notice) because I was in extreme pain, and I just ran out of my pain medication. I took four of the capsules (200mg), and no help stress or pain wise. OF COURSE, when I got home I found two Lortab 10/500s (from a couple years ago).

I haven't taken anything with APAP (in over a year), and I do not drink. Do you think this would be a safe combination? It's this or the ER, and I just cannot afford the ER (I also don't want to go for a failing liver, either).

I'm not immediately aware of any enzymatic interactions between APAP and Kava Kava, but since you took pretty low doses of both, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Since Kava Kava is a depressant, it might not be the best idea to take it with hydrocodone.

I've read that it's not a good idea to take the capsules with APAP or alcohol because it can cause liver problems (and failure in large doses), but I can't find anything on small doses of APAP - just larger ones.

As for the hydrocodone, I've read in a few places that the Kava can actually be a potentiator, but that wasn't originally my intention anyway.

I'm not sure if it helps, but I have pretty high tolerance to opiates, anyway. I think 20mg of hydro will help with the pain, but I truly doubt it will do more than that.

Yeah, both kava kava and APAP are known for causing liver issues - but again your dosages are quite low so I'm sure you will be okay.

If you have a tolerance to opiates, then a bit of kava kava and only 20mg hydro shouldn't be too bad.
