United States authorities have insisted Kate Moss take a drug test before entering the country. After being offered a few jobs in the US, she went to an American Embassy in England to get a work visa and that’s when they broke the news to her.

A source said, “The person put in charge of her case had to tell her point blank that the application couldn’t be processed without a drugs test. It’s common practice for American officials to deny people with criminal records or a history of drugs entry to the States, but Kate has never been charged so she looked a little stunned. The Embassy employee explained that her case is different because of her notoriety and her cocaine problem was so high profile.”

Not that I care about KM, but that is one crazy requirement to enter US ? Is there a legal precedent for this ? Interesting indeed.

No only if they have reason to suspect you use drugs. Such as numerous pictures circulated around of you doing drugs. Or a criminal record.

You only have to have been arrested, not even charged. I think!
 
What if she used certain drugs in a country where they are legal before she tried to enter the US? Would she still be denied?
 
They only allow you to be on drugs when you're going up for president, not for something simple like citizenship.
 
Well Kate has the unusual position of it being public knowledge she did coke, but no criminal record.
If it was Kate Sixpack with no public recognition applying for a visa, and they found out she was arrested or charged with possesion during the background check she would just be rejected for a visa.

Kate is being done a favor actually, when you apply for a visa you are asking permission to enter the country, you have no legal right to.
If this had been Kate Sixpack and the embassy official had seen the pics during a google search she would just reject the visa application, yaah for celebrities being better then the rest of us.
 
Note that she is applying for a work visa. I don't think we require tourist visas from UK citizens to enter the country. She could still come here and blow through keys of coke, she just doesn't have the right to work here. It all seems stupid, because like I said, she could come and consume our drugs, but she can't work and pay taxes though...
