Kan. man convicted of 2 drug-related homicides

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A 21-year-old Wichita man has been found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and other charges connected to the city's first homicides of 2013.

The Wichita Eagle (http://bit.ly/1lkLFLy ) reports a Sedgwick County jury took less than two hours Tuesday to convict Shawn Brown of all counts in the drug-related deaths of Shawn Rhone and Adji Tampone.

Prosecutors say 42-year-old Rhone was shot during an attempted robbery Jan. 2, 2013, after being lured to a vacant house to sell marijuana. The 29-year-old Tampone was found shot to death in his home the next day.

Brown's 20-year-old brother, Jerone Brown, was convicted this month of two counts of first-degree murder. A third brother, 22-year-old Milo Brown, was sentenced this month to life in prison for his role in Rhone's murder.
