Opioids Kadians vs MSContins

I have a 100mg Kadian. I usually just chew the 100mg MSContins (grey) with no ill effects. Do I treat the Kadian the same way? The little beads are just another ER mechanism, correct? Don't want to get knocked off my butt on something I'm pretty sure is the same thing, just different delivery system.
