This was: Around 3-5 mg of JWH-081, probably less, smoked in a damiana infusion.
(What follows is an account written as it was happening. I started about 6 PM. I'd not eaten anything for a couple hours beforehand. The first part of it just took place in my bedroom at home.)
This is JWH-081 from (source removed). I blended about 320 mg of the substance (a white grainy powder) with about 8 g of damiana leaf (thus 40 mg/g ratio). I used acetone to infuse (didn't write down amounts), and I did it by throwing the herb into the jar with the dissolved JWH, then adding some Everclear since it looked too dry. I added a little too much Everclear, but I did my best with the wet leaf and spread it around on some foil, trying to keep the liquid soaked in it and mix it around periodically to keep the amount consistent.
The leaves had some crystals glinting on them so I know I got something in them, but I'd imagine there's some loss.
I smoked about 0.15 g of the leaf in my bowl (I measured it). Perhaps damiana smoke is a bit harsh for me; I wasn't able to finish the bowl because around the time of the 2nd or 3rd hit the smoke was irritating me and I had to exhale hard or cough or something, and this blew the red ashes (and any unburned leaf) right out of the pipe and into my carpet.
I noticed little from the 1st hit. I couldn't really tell anything for sure, so the 2nd and 3rd hits came 15-20 minutes later.
What I'm feeling: I get a little bit of the weird bodily feeling - like my hands feeling like a "V" at the keyboard when they are not, or the weird lightness in my feet.
I'm focusing a little better. I feel pretty chilled. Things aren't worrying me. Beavis & Butthead is making me laugh more than I probably would in another state. I don't know if I'm hitting the same level of tunnel vision that I have with weed. I'm certainly not getting the stream of consciousness effects that I get with larger (relatively) amounts of weed, like the splintering or the nonlinearity. My memory seems to be effected similarly, locally at least.
I am getting some visions with my eyes closed but they don't feel quite the same. They're still there, but they are different, and they are still quite gorgeous. They feel much more dynamic; they have a lot more motion. They're not nearly as dense - which perhaps is what makes it seem like much more motion is going on. With weed, it was like a huge, dense landscape of fractalian shapes, and if it was moving it was almost all at once and the density just made it feel as if nothing really changed much. (Think of the trees moving in a heavy wind or a downpour. While the individual leaves and branches may move constantly, the overall tree stays in the same place.)
With this case, though, the structures formed clearer wholes and moved around. Instead of a dense landscape of fractals, it was more defined shapes which still had some mathematical structure to them. Think of fibers and ropes wrapping around each other, but moving constantly, and not such a tangled mess that you can't comprehend them.
I thought of a vision that my brain would immediately latch onto and explode into a entire landscape were I under the influence of weed (it's a rather specific vision whose details are quite hard to describe), but it sort of faded away quickly. Other images are easier to keep around.
Thought of the moment about that is, "I tried to mold my brain into that shape, but it wouldn't take it." I could mold some of the similar visions but they developed differently. I was on my bed for a little while with my eyes closed and a blanket covering part of me (it's light in my room and I wanted to avoid the light being visible through my closed eyes, so as to get rid of that outside influence).
They're much more lively in some sense. They interact more, perhaps.
Something just put the Descent II (I think?) theme song in my head which is perplexing since I've not thought of it in the longest time.
(As-it-was-happening account ends here. I left home to get to a coffee shop, but a friend in a tavern saw me and so I joined him instead. At this point the account isn't too useful because it'd have the effects of alcohol added onto it.)
Here is some information to put that account in context.
I've not been smoking weed for long (less than 2 months) and I have not much of a tolerance for it. However, weed does have some very noticeable effects on me in the lower doses. I do get the general mellowness and a little bit of "tunnel vision" where I find it much easier to focus on something because I basically push everything else out of my mind - but these effects can be subtle.
The easiest effect to notice, though, is how much more vivid the "visualizations" in my head become when I try to think of shapes or colors, particularly with closed eyes - those visualizations become very vivid, very organic, and extremely detailed in the same way that a fractal is detailed. The visualizations aren't hallucinations. They're not what I literally see anywhere - they're just visualizations.
The account above is written basically in reference to the effects of marijuana on me.
Overall, I'd say it was a very pleasant experience. I will do it again.
