Hello all,
I just signed up after researching info on my condition. I have had a very terrible time dealing with something I believe is nerve related, possibly in my neck.
Long story short , I was just accepted on my states insurance and can finally get this looked at - I am in so much pain that the only thing that relieves it is pain meds ... no asprin Tylenol or advil will touch this pain ... I have tried everything and opiates are the only temporary relief I can get right now for a CONSTANT pain that feels like my right arm is rotting off from the shoulder down.
I just went to my new doc Monday and I knew this was going to happen but at least I got the ball rolling on diagnosing it ... he of course would NOT give me any pain meds - I have been buying pain meds (oxys, lortabs, vicodins, even heroin to snort) off of drug dealers to function through this pain for the past month. Of course the doc wouldn't give me anything for pain me being new but said he would after my condition showed some diagnosis after the MRI ... which is this morning after I spent all day on the phone arranging it quickly ASAP to get this taken care of. Doc said possible cervical surgery but cannot tell just yet.
Anyways ... I am the one who is in terrible disabling pain until I get the mri done and see the doc for the results ... that's more time im going to be in pain and I cannot afford street drugs much longer - nor can I deal with this agony much longer knowing that im waiting on people who could care less im hurting or not. I was lucky to get the mri scheduled quickly, now just gotta push for an earlier appointment with the doc for the results ... more waiting.
I am not used to something that I have no idea why it started hurting and it wont heal itself or has not gotten any better ... I cannot get ANY relief - none --- the dam pain pills are the only thing that work... and I used to take these for fun just to get a buzz ... now I rely on them to function whenever I can get my hands on them. I don't know what else to do, I cannot live with this pain everyday ... I am so miserable Icannot be around anyone else and I don't realize just how bad it effects my everyday mood...my face is sore from grimmising the pain all day.
Only thing that sometimes work so I can get a few hours sleep is when I put the hair dryer in bed and have it blow on my back as I lay on my side ... the hot air helps soothe my nerves in that area I guess and it feels good all over - still hurts but backs it down for alittle while.
I am excited to get my MRI results and go in a few hours ... will post an update later.
I will be needing to learn about the meds they will be prescribing me Im sure, so I look forward to chiming in. thanks
So far the doc prescribed me 30 - 350mg SOMA & DICLOFENAC - Neither of which are doing ANYTHING for pain ... NOTHING at all ... and he knew that this wasn't going to work because I told him Naproxen and other anti-inflammatories weren't working ... if its nerve realted like this is - he even agreed they wouldn't work - yet he prescribed them anyways and refused anything that would truly work. Boy was I pissed - I expressed my disapproval also! Now I feel like I should go Dr shopping for a ANY quack I can find that will at least give me 15 or 20 lortabs because I am the one in pain here and I know its gonna take more time to get things done.
