I discovered this forum when looking up info on lack of opiate withdrawal symptoms.
I ran across this archived thread: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/579531-No-withdrawals-after-long-term-opiate-use
It took me awhile to realize this was apparently a locked and archived thread.
I have over 4 decades of experience with all classes of recreational molecules and have a scientific bent on these things.
My brother died from an IV Oxycontin in 2004.
I have some things I would like to discuss with folks who do not believe a lack major withdrawal symptoms from long term high doses of opiates is a reality.
So to begin such a discussion I welcome advice as to the appropriate section in which to discuss this.
I am myself a severe chronic pain patient. I have been taking two 100 mg of MS Contin, 4 X 10/325 Hydrocodone.APAP, 3 X 10 mg Diazapam(Valium) and 3 X 350 mg carisiprodol(Soma) per day for the past 8 years.
Aside from that in my old age(60+ years) I smoke some quality bud whenever the opportunity arises but infrequently and mainly because I am disinclined to pay the high market prices for smoke.
I used to be a purveyor of Colombian Marching Powder on a scale large enough to become an unindicted co-conspirator in a large Federal RICO case in the early '80's. Two DEA agents personally delivered the subpoena and for 8 months I was threatened by the regional Federal assistant prosecutor to cooperate or face becoming an indicted conspirator and/or be subjected to prosecution for evading payment of income taxes on their estimation of my earnings. I told them I would appear as required but would invoke my Fifth Amendment privileges. Just two days before I was due they withdrew the subpoena.
My atty was freaking out but as I told him, everyone else has already cut deals and in the scheme of things they wished to let me slide and anticipated me to fill the vacuum left behind. He was skeptical of my theory but it worked.
I should be solidly physically dependent on opiates but the fact is that I can easily cut my morphine dose by 50% and for weeks without any adverse affects. Morphine does not impair my functioning and it acts like caffeine if I take an afternoon dose. I have never nodded on it or heroin and prior to getting MS Contin I did use heroin IV to relieve pain.
If your pain is intense enough opiates only help moderate it and the pain nullifies any possibility of experiencing euphoric effects. Believe me, I have taken 400 mg of crushed MS Contin orally and using more only exacerbates the insomniac effects for me.
Anyway, I look forward to having some stimulating conversations about most any legal and illegal drugs.
I think that is enough for now.
