Yeah, opiates have a delay of about ten seconds IV which always seems odd to someone far more experienced shooting meth. But either way the affects are pretty close to instant. Not sure how long the whole process of prepping a shot compares to smoking with opiates as I have next to no experience smoking them, opium a few times and oxy (not my pills or foil, LOL) once. But with meth I can have my shot done while someone is bairly started smoking theirs. Any thing smoked will go into the blood, back to the heart, then out to the whole body. IV goes to the heart, then to the lungs, back to the heart, out to body. So depending on how you look at the question you're both sorta right.
