Benzos Just been to a UK doctor to try and get some Anti-Anxiety medication

In the UK!? If so, that doctor is a minority-legit benzo scripts are pretty damn rare on the nhs.If you have a drug problem and need a script, no gp I'd know will touch you with a barge pole; they would refer you to a drug treatment provider. It's the route I went to get suboxone and a librium booze detox. Of course, now my records say "problem drug user", so any doctor would be even less likely to provide a high risk drug.

Fuck this state subsidised healthcare system-I want to live in a place where there are crooked doctors, where money talks louder than words, and where the pharmaceutical candy flows like tapwater; I want to live in Florida, USA! (Although I've heard things have tightened up a lot in Florida lately).

A script should be the absolute last option in the list of possible treatments and if you are genuinely suffering from anxiety you should be glad for them being strict unless you have been through every other possible option already.

Kudos to your doctor because that's the truth.

Sorry, but no.

That's classical doctor mistake for labeling a person genuinely in need to be a drug seeker

I'd bet you actual cash if he walked into that doc's room again and asked to start treatment with cipralex they would be more than happy to give him that

Just that kind of doctors who feel their medical license is safer when they don't prescribe short-term solutions, even to patients who truly need them

Doctors need to understand that trust works both ways, is all I'm saying.

I explained to the woman im on the verge of loosing a lot around be bcause my constant dark anxiety over me, it's crippling me every single day, i explained to het that Anti-Depressants and Counseling never helped me with my panic attacks and only Alcohol really did, the tried to put be back on the AD's but i said is there no other choice like an Anti-Anxiety and she said "Thers no drug that just deals with Anxiety, you'll just gave to go to counselling! how the hell do people get these scripts

Giving up :(

They don't let up about using alcohol to self-med themselves... :(

If you manage to maintain a reputation ass a resonsible benzo user then it is much easier to get scripts. When I was younger and had been blagging scripts but appearing as if I was using them sensibly it was pretty easy to get what I wanted as long as I didn't take the piss too often. Once you have a mark against your name as a drug seeker, or have contact because of addiction issues then you are fucked and it is basically impossible to get anything (except certain situations, but that isn't a discussion for here).

Question to the OP, coming from a guy who is/has been through the wars with benzos. Do you know how fatal Benzo W/D Seizures are ? Do you think you would be responsible and take your medication when your supposed to ? Addicition can easily creep up, anybody who's seeking to for the 1st time in their life be put on Benzodiazepines Long Term is dancing with the devil ! Trust Me

The only people who should be taking them are people who are already dependant and have no choice,

Not meaning to sound like a dick mate of course benzos are good and AD's are shit ,

Believe it or not a friend of mine who has Bad Anxiety gets beta blockers, and he says they actually calm him down,
Amitriptyline is a love or hate drug for me it really helped at high doses a few hours before bed.
Mild antipsychotics can relieve anxiety, I went through a bad phase and took Largactil for a while.

You can buy GABA supplements, supposedly release Gaba in the bran , similar to how benzos work.

Point I'm making is try absolutely everything and anything before Benzos, because once you're in Benzoland you're in Benzoland !

For most there is no return.

You can try RC Benzos and I'm NOT encouraging it , but in the genuine case of harm reduction :
IF you get RC Benzos because you desperately want them and can't get them off the Dr, Pyrazolam is the safest choice, Diclazepam I don't have enough experience to tell you but don't let the name fool you, Etizolam is dangerous, extremely potent especially for a person desperate for Benzos ! Finally Flubromazepam nobody knows much about it and the talk just now is that it could be potentially dangerous like the RC Benzo Phenazepam that got banned for fucking people up basically.

Goodluck ;)

Absolutely. So glad I've never had a fit which is pretty lucky as I've done cold turkey from a 200mg diaz daily habit at the same time as from a gear habit. Lucky really.

It was a relatively short term habit, a couple of months. I wasn't actually taking it all as diaz, I was using various different benzos but that was the measured equivalent amount to move on to if I wanted to do a switch on a diaz detox.

It was fucking harrowing though. I would never have done it if I knew what it was going to be like, I would have stayed in a psych ward over xmas to get on to a diaz/sub reduction (which was the alternative option to going cold turkey and the recommended option). I didn't really have any comprehension of how brutal it was going to be back then though. I didn't even leave the fetal position for days to be begin with.

I tried to sign myself in twice to get a detox and they wouldn't take me, it took a massive seizure and nearly death before I got help

When I was coming off my meth script I went through a load of shit trying to get detox. I was just about to get it when I missed my assessment interview for admittance then by the time it came to make another one they were changing the rules on how they assessed for funding because lot's of their funding had been removed in an agency change. Started saying I had to attend day program for a certain number of weeks to show 'willingness' even though I had reduced from 80ml to 19 ml in about three months. Ended up just fucking the process off and jumping off my script (which resulted in three plus weeks of withdrawal).

Yep, the system treats everybody like scum no matter what your personal circumstances

I don't really see that as being treated like scum, I just think it was a poor decision as I was clearly willing to try and get clean.

This has gone on too long, threads about getting prescriptions, or how to present yourself to a doctor to obtain prescriptions, are explicitly not allowed....
