I submitted this for Creative Writing class in school, the rhyming scheme is: AABA, BBCB, CCDC, etc.
I unique, was born – unlike in all
To a couples’ love, and nature’s call
Precious was I, for the world thanked me
As my name was unknown to Quarrel’s gall
Simply was known, as I loved by the sea
For black and for white, were all that could be
You grew older as I, yet different somehow
As I knew in my heart, that I was the key
I the truth realized, when life was soon out
That my actions not noticed, nor was my shout
I was a grain of sand on that beach, where I used to reside
Stepped on by feet bearing sorrow and doubt
Your life knew me well, yet never heard me cry
Never and always have you tasted the tears of my sigh
I am everyone and no one, just passing life by
Until the tide comes, and comes my time to die
My life knew you well, as by the seashore we lie.
For I am you, and you are I
As into oblivion we pass, the truth makes us cry
For I am you, and you are I

This poem is about the death of the common and ordinary man amongst all that happens in the world pretty much. He thinks he's special at first but then realized that he's just doomed like everyone else. I'm submitting it today.

My mind is frazzled right now, so I'll give it another read when I'm more capable. But I can relay a first impression - subtle, yet deep. Kind of like a stream slowly going by where you are afraid to step in because you don't know how deep it will take you. Nice work.
