Just something I read the other day. It was from one friend to another. I thought it defined the true meaning of what a best friend is.

Do you know how rare it is to find a true, true (underlined) best friend? We may meet people we suspect will be strong and fast friends, but these same people may falter under pressure. Perhaps they are not honest. Maybe there is no trust. The friend holds back, stopping any candidness in the relationship. In any case, friends are not a dime a dozen.
In you, I have found that rare type of friend. It's especially hard because you are a man. Women are not often as lucky as I. In fact many are not, because I love my best friend.
You are such a wonder to me. So funny, witty, and quicktounged. You know what to say in almost any situation. You are understanding and compromising, very flexible. You make it easy to get along with you. So patient and giving. Intelligent - book and streetsmart. Open to new things- not many people really are, you know.
In short, you make it very easy to be a friend to. Thank you for so selflessly sharing yourself, your knowledge and experiences with me over the past year. It's not often you are able to love someone.
