"Junior, the most important thing you need to know about how the world works is..."

"Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again."

That's an interesting question OP. Personally if I ever have a child, the best foundation to base their thinking on, would be a skeptical mind, and to question everything. Without those two things, major religions would have had an even bigger impact on the world. Which I can barely even imagine how it would have turned out. Thank "god" for intellectuality, and of course rationality - The two combined are important!

Just because it's the consensus, has no bearing on if it's right.

lol. i like the cartoon pic. is that mad mag?

i think its more accurate. no one really tells a kid how to raise himself. you half-raise while he stumbles around trying to figure things out.

"Let your interests be as wide as possible, and let your reactions to the things and people that interest you be as far as possible friendly rather than hostile."

whatever you want in life, if you want it badly enough you can have it. so don't let anyone or anything stand in your way.

Be optimistic, be brave, be confident, find humor, be ambitious, always keep yourself in good mental and physical health, learn from your mistakes, learn from your successes, don't be afraid of making mistakes but don't be stupid, be careful, be smart, be strong, be kind, avoid fights but if unavoidable hit first and hit hard, do whatever I tell you, never miss an opportunity to use a bathroom, pay your taxes on time, have credit cards but don't use them, realize that whatever you suffer others have endured worse and survived and flourished.

And don't spend too much time reading forums on the internet.

^ Or trying to lay low for any reason.

But otherwise good advice. Different drummers produce better marching rhythms. When in Rome, do as the Vandals and Visigoths do =D

*Be accountable

*The only person on who you will always be able to count on, is yourself, because times over people disappoint one another.

*never to accept at face value what you are told by authority. Even when it's me telling you.

* Be honest whenever possible. It will give you an enormous amount of power, reputation, and not being afraid=of being caught.
