There was a story on "Today Tonight" this evening (14/4) that made me laugh so hard I almost wet myself! It was about internet filters, and how the net nannies don't work etc...
They had this guy on the show demonstrating how drug information is easily available on the net by showing the erowid page. He seriously thought that it was dangerous that kids were able to obtain the chemical formula (and diagrams of the molecular structure) for psychoactive drugs! (his example was heroin) Yeah, every 12yo kid I know has a knowledge of chemistry equivalent to a 3rd year chem student! hahahaha
The funniest thing was when they showed that you could actually find *gasp* PICTURES of ecstasy tablets! errmmmm yeah....and what do they show on the news every time there's an e bust??
"Today Tonight" is on at 6:30, way before many kids' bedtimes, yet just about every time they have a story on the evils of drugs, they show people smoking pot and cooking up smack/speed. Maybe they think its alright because its just actors?
Well, I know one thing for sure now....when I "flip out" from having too many "evil" drugs and plunge into a life of crime and prostitution, the first place I'm heading with my semi-automatic shotgun (don't all drug users have one??
) is channel 7's studios
