THE 19-year-old daughter of rock star Jon Bon Jovi was taken to hospital after a suspected heroin overdose in her college dormitory.

Stephanie Bongiovi was found unresponsive in her room at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and is recovering in hospital.

Police said an ambulance was sent to the college at 2am and heroin and marijuana were found in the dorm room during a search.

Bongiovi was later charged with possession of heroin, marijuana possession and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Ian S Grant, 21, a student who was in the same room as Bongiovi, was also charged with possession of heroin.

They will both appear in court a later date.

Bongiovi is the oldest of four children of Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, and is their only daughter.

I feel sorry for Jon BonJovi,as far as I'm aware I have never heard of him being into drugs throughout his time in the music business,I may be wrong but it's just I've never heard mention of him and drugs.
Hope his daughter manages to sort herself out. At least her dad can afford a top rehabilitation facility for her.

They REALLY need good samaritan laws. For every one person who calls 911, there are ten who don't.

OK that's a completely made-up stat, but I'd be surprised if it isn't in the ballpark. When I OD'd nobody called 911. They filled my pants with ice cubes and did CPR for (I was told) a couple of minutes, but were scared to call an ambulance for fear they'd get a cop. They were all on paper.

Yea i called 911 once when i thought i was od'ing on mda... instead i got a cop that searched my house for almost an hour before the ambulance showed!!! Fucked up man

That is fucked up beyond belief. No wonder many people do not call 911 if someone is ODing. I had someone OD on me but once i got them on their feet and moving around they became responsive and i did not let this person out of my sight or lay down for atleast 6 hours.

Here in Canada if the paramedics show up to a place the cops have to come as well by law in case someone is dead. I think the reason for this is in case they have to pronounce someone dead. I know that when my flat mates sister called a ambulance for him because he told her he thought he was having a heart attack the cops showed up with the ambulance. As soon as i saw them pull up i ran right to my room and hid anything that might be incriminating. Granted i would have been fucked had they tossed the place because there where syringes all over the place and i could not find them all as it was also my g/f's room. Thankfully they didn't say anything to me besides ask me where i was from and i struck up a conversation with one of the cops while the paramedics where checking out my room mate. Somehow the topic of the well known party scene in my hometown came up and we ended up talking about well known party places around the world lol :D . I was worried they might smell the weed smoke in the house as i had just finished a joint upstairs but either they didn't smell it or didn't care :\

As for Bon Jovi's daughter i think this may have been a suicide attempt actually. I think she listened to his "music" and tried to kill herself after she heard that god forsaken racket which is the worst pop music ever! :! People say Gloomy Sunday is the suicide song but i think Bon Jovi has driven far more people to kill themselves =D

Thankfully her charges where dropped due to New York govenor Andrew Cuomo signing good samaratian legislation last year. That govenor deserves praise.

I had thought this was New Jersey.

Her father should force Chris Christie to pass the law in Jersey, seeing as it probably saved his daughter's life in New York.

I wonder if the guy that made the call will suffer any consequences for making that call. Like getting kicked out of his dorm.

I almost guarantee he will lose his living quarters or possibly his education over this. It happens all the time (I am in canada though)
These dorms are renting just like any other rental unit and proven drug use will most often get you booted. It seems though, that marijuana use, at least in Canada is tolerated within the dorms. Sure they will search the room if a staff member alerts the authorities, but they are not likely to lose their living situation due to marijuana related offences... in my experience anyway. I think that is a good thing.

when you have some one oding and have to call an ambulance, never say you think they are overdosed on drugs bc they the cops will always get there first. instead say you think they are having a heart attack or something to that effect.
