Bit of a story... I was sitting there a couple days ago rolling up a super doobie three paper bitch and amusing myself happily, when a friend who's just arrived from NZ commented on the tobacco issue. And the cutting up issue. And... well kiwi's are picky bastards...

j/k
Anyway the story goes - apparently it's customary to smoke green Js in NZ, and according to my local expert, they do not even chop up the weed to speak of. I'm led to believe that breaking up a stick of choof and then wrapping paper around it is the style of the times.
Now, note there aren't any particular hard and fast reasons why this is so, or at least not any that we could come up with at the time... not weaker choof, not dryer choof, no real point at all besides it's just the way it's done. So anyway I put my contentions forth: tobacco helps the J burn properly, provides robustness and burning duration without tainting the flavour too much (particularly if you use a good heavy flavoured tobacco like marlboro red), and that chopping a mix like 'so' would allow a smoother-burning, easy-drawing J that could be passed around without fear of ashing it and losing the whole guts of the scoob. I mean... they sound like decent enough reasons to me
Anyway, so I continued rolling it my way, and twenty five tokes later i'm still holding about a third of the J that looks like a cigar about as thick as my thumb and a couple inches long and everyone in the room is giggling their arses off... I guess either way you roll them, it's still gonna get you stoned.
I'll be sure to update with a roadtest comparison next time, when we get some NZ-style Js going :D
