Hi everyone,

I was taking benzos for a few years (about 6 years ago) and joined some of those anti-benzo forums. Long story short, they freaked me the hell out and I got programmed to hate the damn things even though they were helping me. I ended up doing a few cold turkeys and been stuck with some lasting neuro problems like headaches, ear ringing and tingling in my feet now and then.

I belonged to a few of those anti-benzo places for a few years but quit going to them about 3 years ago. Even though I quit going there I have a total aversion to benzos now. About a month ago my sister gave me some 10mg diazepam tabs and a few weeks ago I took half a tab at about 3am because I couldn't sleep. For about 2 weeks after that my head didn't hurt, the tingling went away and I barely noticed my ears ringing. Now these things are coming back again so I want to take a diazepam every week or two but I'm still pretty psyched out about it because of the insanity of the benzo hate forums I participated in for a few years. It really messed with my head.

Also when I have a drink now and then it really messes up my nervous system but the diazepam didn't mess with me at all!

Hey there Swicod, welcome :). I think you would benefit from out The Dark Side section. It deals with both drugs abuse and mental disorders and provides a supportive and encouraging environment.

Benzodiazepine dependency (not even addiction) can take a toll on the mind and body. I'm glad to hear you managed without them!

I don't regularly take benzodiazepines but I have them for when they're most needed.

As Stardust.Hero said, The Dark Side is an excellent place for people recovering from drug use.

Welcome to Bluelight, and I hope you enjoy our community. :)
