The bank can't take your JSA etc payments, they will say they can & try to blag you but the Law says they can't.
Get down the the CAB & ask them, I had Natwest try to fuck me like that & I managed to get it sorted out, don't let those money Nazis rob you like that.
 
Good luck everyone. I've been on JSA for a couple of years now as a young person just trying to get a job I'm more than qualified for (which didn't exist in the current economic mess), and well it looks like things are picking up and more jobs in my field are opening. Got a few interviews next week (as opposed to the 1 every 5 months if I'm lucky) so I can finally get them off my back and start working if all goes well =D Might be nice being treated like a human by people who think all there is to signing on is daytime TV and clearly haven't been shoveled into every 'employability' course going.
 
im finding it extremely difficult, either i havent quite got all the technical skills the company is looking for, or the roles im applying for are "too junior" for me. I have made serious, proper attempts to get hundreds of jobs, landed 2 interviews recently after improving my CV, and im gonna ring that fuckin shop up today. Tell the manager how keen i am, and not mention why he hasnt even the courtesy to reply when i spent 2 hours typing a letter, tayloring my cv, and cycling into town to hand it in. Actually id like to go complteley off my nut at him down the pjone lol, take ALL my frustration out on him cos he didnt reply to my letter.

Ah well i dont think i'll really do that. I had less etiz last night, so will try today without coffee. It should be less stressfull, doing nothing.
 
What's eyiz? I've heard a few mention that on here but never heard of it before.

MDB, I think everyone is struggling with finding work at mo try not to take it too heart easier said than done but you'll find something when you least expect it x

How long does it take to become disillusioned about ever getting another job ?

Ive been trying really hard over the last 3 months or so to no fucking avail. The first few knock backs didnt get to me, but as the number of knockbacks is steadily growing its hard for it not to affect you.

I suppose I allways said I wanted to be off Bupe before i got another job. I didnt expect either to take so long, but at least Ive managed the first part, hopefully when i get my etizolam dose reduced I'll find it easier to get out of bed in the mornings, and can go trawling around employment agencies and do whatever it takes. I really want a job now, particularly because of the 10k tax year thing, i wont have to pay any tax until after April next year, so that really is a big incentive.
 
try 3 years and no luck or help from the job centre getting one mate been on and off the dole for 20 years now cunts made it so easy at first and now im to old and fuck all in the line of references or qualifications so no will employ me .

applying for 10 jobs each 2 weeks with very limited employers around me must of emailed the area 3 times in the last 6 months fucking gets to you

Depends really in my view where you live, where I am the rate of people on JSA is well above the national average & when I went to Tesco they had 4,000 people try for 300 jobs so those kind of odd's don't fill you with joy really.

I am limited to what jobs I can actually do only having GCSE grades, there is NO WAY I can work in a factory on a line doing the same thing day in & day out for the next 30 years, just the idea of it makes me want to commit Seppuku.
I am kind of stuck really to call centre stuff but I agree MDB you soon loose hope about getting a job & round here it's now just below 1 in 10 on JSA.
UB40 (the old JSA form) did that song back in the 80's & in the same area things are nearly as bad again, strange it was a Tory system in power last time too.
